Don’t they need your zip code to calculate your monthly tax?
Call him for exact rates. Probably around $100 but not sure.
@CambMA02141 Thank you for posting this
He charged $210 and turned around the MA/Plate reg in 2 days.
Game changer for MA customers
Thank you!
$210 on top of the fees or $210 inclusive? Title and Reg are $135 in MA
$210 total that i had to zelle him
Now for the most important question, does this mean we have another broker on the site that will work with MA customers?
add me to the MA list! haha
Been using Iyman’s for years! That’s how I get all of my MA deals done. They’re handling 2 for me this month, and we did another last month, always smooth. Great service.
TIL you service MA. You guys have to tag us in your marketplace posts. We’re so used to being left out we just sort by that tag
Good point, I will add it, we’ve been doing MA deals for a while now thanks to Iymans! I will say, it can still be a pain depending on who your insurance company is, some of them insist on a certain order of operations that makes no logical sense, but most of the time it actually winds up being easier than other states once you know how it works.
I am biased…but, I always felt that the difficulty of the process was always overrated by out of state brokers/dealers.
I helped my brother in law get a deal out of state and he has some tiny MA insurer I’d never heard of and it was a nightmare. That made him go in person to get the stamp. I had no idea they didn’t all do it online
Honestly, it really depends on the insurance company. Geico will literally just spit out a pre-stamped RTA form for you, but I had (similar to what @CambMA02141 was saying) some smaller company give me some big whole lecture about how what Geico is doing is wrong, and that I needed my client to technically buy the car before he could actually get the insurance because they needed an executed lease agreement or something like similar, it was some kind of paperwork that we wouldn’t have had until the car was formally contracted, which made no sense to me.
That’s great information to have! I wasn’t aware that this service existed in Mass.
Soooooooo easy with GEICO
omg this is a game changer that we’re getting some more people willing to touch MA deals.
Recently bought a (very used, but one off) car from an out of state dealer and had to reassure the dealer that I would not hold it against them I was going to go up against RMV on my own and just needed the title and contract from them.
Went smoothly though. In and out within 45 minutes with plates. MA isn’t so bad if you know what you’re doing and have all the docs in hand.
Say it ain’t so
You dont strike me as a geico guy
I’d recommend shopping them against my broker. Can prob save a bit and the service is awesome
Switched this year after they raised my premium 40% but would still love to talk to your broker
As it relates to the insurer you use, most of the independent agents have a stamp for all of their carriers and you’re just waiting on them to scan or fax it. Even a big company like progressive you have to talk to someone and they send it to you.
Never used geico but in MA they are really cheap for year 1 and those who change quickly it’s the easiest. I felt a bit guilty with all the changes my agent had to process back when I was flipping a lot and Arbella questioned me about it a few times on my personal policy (I just like changing cars and chasing deals”)
hey since this thread is full of MAssholes what’s the deal with out of state buying/leasing cars from MA dealers? Is there some kind of weird sales tax thing?
