Can anyone give me advice on leasing a new car? Budget is $400 a month max, no money down. Located in NJ. Ideally I would like a car with AWD. I looked at the Grand touring CX-5 AWD , quoted at under $390 a month. Not sure if I actually want a SUV though. I’m looking for suggestions on cars I should look at. I was hoping I could get a nicer car than a Mazda for under $400 a month but I might be unrealistic. I appreciate any and all help!
How soon do you need it? What are the alternatives to the CX-5 you are considering? One thing to keep in mind, among others is the price of insurance. Not everyone is thinking of it when leasing or buying, but it could be a costly part of “owning” a vehicle, so compare insurance quote on the cars you end up considering.
If you don’t mind paying a little over 400 take a look at the Volvo S60, pretty good deal even on the AWDs - http://www.volvocars.com/us/shopping-tools/shop/offers/southerncaliforniavolvoretailers#s60
I know it’s easy for me to say, but if you can live without the AWD this is a heck of deal and probably can be improved a bit buy using the TrueCar - http://www.ford.com/cars/fusion/2016/incentives/
Thanks for the response! Insurance is separate and I have that accounted for. I’ll definitely check out the Ford Fusion. To be honest AWD is not a must since it really doesn’t snow that often in NJ and when it does they clear the roads pretty good for the most part. I definitely want the car to have leather, rear-view camera would be nice but necessary and NAV is not necessary since Google Maps uses Waze and to me is the best GPS.
Any other cars I should look it? Any great deals this month? I looked at the Acura ILX but it seems a little small, comparable to the Civic. That was quoted at about $370 a month for 36 months at 18,000 per year.
I appreciate the help and any insight anyone can give!
You should be able to get a loaded Chevy Malibu for way under your budget. I don’t know what leases are looking like this month, but it was possible a few months ago to get a lower level trim in the low $200s.
I think rear view is mandatory on 2017 models, please note “I think” Also, whatever you end up leasing, if the tires are crappy you can always swap them before the snow and swap them back at the end and sell the used if any thread left, but you will drive safer on better tires.
As far as cars, you may or may not be sol because most of the special leases here ended on Sept 6th, or did they? http://www.edmunds.com/car-leasing/monthly-199-lease-deals.html You’d have to investigate on case by case. Price you pay is very important part of equation, but don’t let it completely dictate what you get because you don’t want to regret what you drive every day for probably three years.
I never dealt with these guys https://dsrleasing.com/ , so can’t vouch for them, but it’s an option.
Seems like the Infiniti Q50 has good deals going around now. Picked up 2 tlx’s over the last 2 weeks and great deals might still be available on a leftover 2016 still. Pm me if interested in the tlx and I can reach out to my contact to help you out. Iam in nj too.
I could tell you exactly what it was for the Fusion since I leased that very car in June, but it was June and big lease incentives, not sure what they are now. I am paying $317.50 including tax for 36 mo 12k a year, usually not a good idea going over 15k a year, unless you are 100% certain you will go that far. I don’t have a copy of the contract in front of me, will have to dig for it so no other details other than msrp $39530 and I think Cap Cost reduction was in a neighborhood of $8k.
Accord is a great choice as well, I just couldn’t touch the deal the Ford was offering at the time on the Fusion with Accord
Out of curiosity what are the numbers? I am trying to lease a TLX myself and wouldn’t mind a 2016 model at all. Would appreciate if you can PM information. Thanks
