First time Leasing: 2023 Mazda CX-30 Premium

Hey guys,

Its my first time leasing a car and before this, I own an 09 Kia Spectra, that I bought cash for $2500 that now has $181k miles, I have it for about 5 years now.
I’ve had my eyes on Mazdas for a while and I thought its time.

So I came to a dealership and their offer was this:

Base Model: $31,500
Packages and Options: -$440 *
Bose Audio Credit-$440
Premium Colors and Trims: $595

  • Machine Gray Metallic $595
    Manufacturer Destination Charge: $1,375
    MSRP (Sticker Price): $33,030
    Germain Mazda Price: $33,030
    Manufacturer Rebate: -$500
    Total Purchase Price: $32,530

LEASE SUMMARY

Term : 36 months
Annual Mileage: 15,000
Residual Value (57%) : $18,827
Total Due At Signing : $3,000

  • First Payment : $538
  • Capitalized Cost Reduction :$2,462

Monthly Payment : $538.20

My question is, do I have any wiggle room here to negotiate? Also Im not sure how exactly the lease calculator here, but should I ask him about the Money factor?

I could also be open for suggestions on some SUV’s that is on par with CX-30’s

Thank you again in advanced. :pray:t4:

This is a nasty deal.

This is a car you should look to finance rather than lease.

If you still want to lease see what @AutoCompanion or @AutoNinjas can offer

Can you elaborate on why I should finance?

I should also add, I had another option of choosing a 21 model that that 24k miles, but that is to buy for 28k. I dabbled in the idea of just purchasing it in cash but my father told me that it is not a good idea since it is a diminishing asset not putting that amount of money on a car like that instead of putting it in investments.

You are paying 22,368 to rent a car worth 32,000 for 3 years.

I would finance this.

21837, DAS include the first payment.

Look in the #marketplace for makes/models that have the best value retention such as

Toyota RAV4
Honda CRV and HRV
Toyota Camry or Honda Civic (yes, it’s a different bodystyle but TBH it’s much more car for the same price)

If OP wants a smallish CUV, the Crosstrek has a noticeably higher residual as well. Pretty sure it’s in the 72-73 range for a 3/10k.
