I’m looking at getting a car for my wife. We were looking at buying a lightly used golf Alltrack, but she drove the X3 and loves it. Thing is we definitely need the advanced safety tech of driving assistant plus. She’s got health issues that make the driving aids more important to her than most people. MSRP on convenience tier and driving assistant plus is around 47k, and under $500 monthly definitely seems acheivable for that MSRP. The issue is that I’m not seeing any X3’s on lots with assistance plus. The local dealer doesn’t even have one in stock, and the next closest dealer is 60 miles away (I’m in New Orleans) given that I want a rare option is that going to hurt my chances of finding a deal? What can I do to help make it happen? I’ve got till the end of September or later to find a vehicle, so I can play a long game if needed.
Thanks!
Means gotta be willing to get on a plane or have it shipped. That’s the great thing about new cars, you don’t have to be in person to inspect it or test drive it. You can scower the country looking for the right car. I tend to keep my search within 500 miles since that’s an easy day trip. One way plane ticket in the morning for $100-200, pick up the car and a 6-8 hour drive back.
Or be willing to pay between $400-800 for shipping.
Order one.

This is an option as well but you have to hone in on a dealer that will still go deep on a custom order. The alternative here is to find a very loaded service loaner and work that specific unit.
