That article is terrible and doesn’t mention such basic facts like the car is not going to be street legal when it goes on sale. In the USA it is really for golf cart paths in planned communities.
But this car makes no sense. To my eyes it’s only advantage over a golf cart is that its enclosed (disadvantagous include price and small size). But then it doesn’t have air conditioning. So while it might be better in the rain it’s going to be less comfortable than an open golf cart when it’s hot out, which is most of the year in southern planned communities.

Yeah the street legal conversation kit is coming out later this fall but won’t be ready when it goes on sale. Either way, I don’t think it makes much difference. In my time in the type of places people drive golf carts, there doesn’t seem to be much concern about street legal status. No one wants to have to carry car insurance on their golf cart.
I can see this useful in vacation areas instead of golf carts…but consumer use? Nah

It’s not for everyone, but it’s charming, and if you have the right use case, this could be fun to own. Anyone know if FiatUSA will offer a lease program? I’d lease one.
Was just in Kotor Montenegro and rented one of these for a day. Pretty fun to drive and made it super easy to get around Kotor with the small roads but definitely don’t see this making much sense in the states.

Kept seeing these everywhere in Paris. There is also the Citroen Ami and the Renault “Twizy?”, I think.
