I’ve never looked into these leases. I do know the acquisition is padded heavily. Also, 2500 down doesn’t seem ideal, if essentially adds 70$ to your payment over the term.

I will be getting back that 2500 from the state which will net me $0 out of pocket.

If you can live with the size and range, looks good. Besides the acquisition.

For what it’s worth, Orange County Fiat was offering a Black Friday deal for $49/month with the same $2500 drive off amount. Right now though they charge $99/month with the same drive-off.

Also, for what it’s worth, I work with a guy who commutes around 80 miles a day in one of these Fiat 500e’s. He is on his second 500e lease so he must like them. He likes that you can get a California car-pool lane sticker to drive solo in the HOV lane(s). To not have range-issues though on his 80 mile roundtrip commute he never runs the air conditioner or the heater. Believe it or not, sometimes it gets hot/cold (for California) here so I wouldn’t like that feature in an EV.

I sat in the passenger seat of his car. There was more room in there than you’d think. Just don’t get run over by a Hummer !

LOL

Good to know.

What’s the $8500 rebate? Isn’t it $7500 Federal and $1000 Lease Conquest?
And why is acquisition $1095? Fiat is only 595 last time I checked

I like it, they’re a fun little car. For $100 a month If I had a place to plug one in it’d be a no brainer.

I have a 500e I’m about to turn back. I like it a lot. Things to consider:

  • Chrysler leases are not transferrable. You’re stuck with it for the next 36 months so make sure you like it. Also, the residual is so high no one ever buys them at the end, so don’t waste money upgrading things on the car once it’s yours.

  • Fiat dealers have been closing left and right, so you may have to travel to find a place to get service if needed and also to end your lease.

My lease with 15k miles, 0 down from nearly 3 years ago was $171/mo plus tax (15k). Your numbers seem too low but I’m too tired to figure out why right now since it’s late.

I got a similar deal last year in September right before Labor day from OC Fiat. My total payment is $39 per month plus tax. I put $2,500 down and got that back about 3 months later from CA. The residual is stupid, so stupid I don’t even know what it is, but I don’t intend on keeping the car. But I drive about 60 miles per day and if I stay on surface streets I am left with about 25 miles of range. If I stay on the highway, I have about 12 miles left at the end.

I ended up buying a Siemens versa charge from Amazon for $400-ish, works great to charge the car up in 3 hours from empty to full.

From a look and feel perspective. It’s small. Smaller than you’d imagine. But the headroom is great (I’m 6’1"). The seating position is awful. I can never adjust the seats and the steering wheel to something comfortable. The radio is great, bluetooth sucks. And for what it’s worth I have 2 car seats in the back and take both my kids to school in the car daily.

If you can get the car for under $75 a month, it’s a great deal.

would you mind sharing the sales person you worked with?

I had the 500e for 3 year lease. As others have pointed out, pricing has been better before in the past. I would aim for the $50+ tax monthly after $2500 down range, that’s what I would consider a good deal.

However, do test drive the car before you buy. As someone else mentioned, the seating position is absolutely horrid, it’s like you’re sitting on bench. The interior storage is non existent and the interior quality overall sucks. The oem tires get horrifically loud as they wear, and they wear pretty quick. If say you can get maybe 18k out of them before you’ll need to change. The rear seats are a bigger joke than the regular Fiats because of the raised battery floor.

The car does drive very sporty, although due to the height, handling gets a bit dicey when pushed hard. The range is okay, but with the bolt available, it’s hard to justify such low range in such an uncomfortable and crappy interior car. If you’re looking for the lowest dollar lease, it’s hard to beat. But I’d take my bolt lease (yes the deal is done, but there’s always next year) or even the clarity lease than the first 500e. And yes, I’ve driven the clarity before - most luxurious EV imo

Debating between an i3 & bolt now. Skipped the fiat as the interior storage was horrible and the interior quality did suck for a 33k msrp car.

At half the price of the Bolt or i3, you learn to love the Fiat.
With that said, just got this quote:

MSRP: $33990
Discount: $2245
Rebate: $9000
Cap: $22,745
Residual 59% 12k miles or 60% 10k miles
MF: 0.00179
Total drive off: $3000
36 months @$164/mo

Not very compelling though they did offer to waive my $350 lease disposition fee at turn in.

Discount is very little making the payments high.
I was told the residual is 61% for the 36/10k

Hi guys, I’m currently debating between the Fiat 500e and the Chevy Bolt as well. Pretty much just want the metal box to commute with, but I don’t want it to be a crapcar either.

My commute to the office is only about 13mi each way, but about once a week I drive a 30mi trip ea way to LA for meetings.

From what I’m reading above from you guys, would the Fiat even make the trip? Highway driving w/ AC or Heater, 70-80mph avg? I don’t feel like running out of electricity any time soon.

My Mercedes B-Class lease ends in a couple months, it gets an avg of 80mi per charge w/ above conditions (I got a phenomenal deal with it).

The Fiat is not a “crapcar”. It’s small but its roomy inside.
Of all the EVs, it drives the most like a normal car. It’s incredibly agile and sporty feeling. A 60 mile round trip is easily done, especially in LA traffic (if you live in some microcosm of LA where you are able to do 80mph the whole way, and you have the heat on, perhaps it will be close).

The biggest plus for the Fiat is cost. The negatives are reliability (lots of recalls, random warning lights, dealers not great at repairs) and the lease is non-transferrable, so it’s yours for the next 3 years.

Awesome thank you for the reply. I will definitely test drive it and see how it feels. I would really love to get a deal like the $49/mo 0 money down deal I’ve seen but I’m not sure if it’s the right time for that. I thought end of the year was a good time to buy/lease cars, but it seems many brands took their discounts away this month. I really don’t want to put any $ down on a lease, so the $2500 due at signing is bleh to me, but potentially worth it if monthly becomes right.

OC Fiat (near me in Costa Mesa) seems like it’s hopefully not going anywhere, so that’s good, I’ve heard some stuff about Fiat dealers closing and thus leases going up in the air and service being very difficult because of the long drive now that yours has closed.

I do trips from Irvine to Downey, and with carpool due to electric vehicle, being able to consistently do 70-80 for 20-25miles is totally feasible.

Take a look this coming weekend. There will be deals to be had, as always.

You can apply to state of California for a (EV) refund of the $2500. Don’t let that change your mind. The net to you is $0 down. The only concern with EV rebates is if you have really high income ($150,000 for single filers, $204,000 for head-of-household filers, or $300,000 for joint filers). Then in that case you are not eligible.

Any car for less than $100/month is a pretty sweet deal no matter how you look at it. Oh sure $49/month is better but in the big scheme of things $99 isn’t too shabby.
