It’s a Fauxrari
I think Ferrari is messing with us with this EV. If I had $640k, I won’t be buying this. ![]()

The interior looks phenomenal in tan. As for the exterior… I’m not immediately revolted by it actually. It’s certainly not a traditionally attractive car but it’s clear that virtually everyone has decided to follow the same formula chasing low drag coefficients and high efficiency so performance isn’t sacrificed in the name of range. In that regard they probably knocked it out of the park but you end up with something that certainly does not inspire the feelings a Ferrari is supposed to evolve. That was guaranteed to happen with an EV anyway so I give them credit for making the choices they made from that perspective. It’s also hard for me to completely hate anything that comes with suicide doors too.
I think the interior is actually a really impressive blend of digital and analogue design, but the exterior is extremely underwhelming for a Ferrari, especially at a $640k price point and with relatively unimpressive performance figures versus the competition…
I’m also starting to notice some concerning similarities across Mercedes, Jaguar, and now Ferrari where heritage and emotional design language seem to be giving way to softer, more generic styling cues that dilute what made the brands feel special in the first place. In any case, I think we can all agree that the memes make it all worth it:
I think all of you are misunderstanding Ferrari’s tactic. They want to say “We told you so” and and waste millions to do that. In a year they will prove that no one wants to buy Electric Ferrari, even so they might have had some takers if it was done by a car designer.
The first Ferrari no one will ever lust for.
Enzo is turning over in his grave.
Here I thought the Pontiac Aztec would go undefeated in automobile history.
$299 per mile seems plausible, yes.
My best guess is that they will use this car as a stepping stone for rich people who want to jump the line and get access to the exclusive models.
I’m not revolted by the design in and of itself, but my prob is that it looks like a full-scale model of a child’s toy version of a Ferrari (particularly from the rear). I’d actually find that rear view very interesting… on another brand of car.
I personally think Jaguar did a much better job of doing something brutal (and brutally diff) from what it’s done b/f for its first EV (I actually think the 00 is rather appealing).
Former Ferrari CEO is not happy w/ the design:
The Ferrari Luce has endured a full frontal assault since the company unveiled the long-awaited addition to its lineup this week.
When you swap the logo of the car, it all starts to make sense. Honestly, looking at the interior of Luce, it makes me feel like apple product.
Well Johnny Ive designed it…
Big mistake, I have no idea what they were doing there.
Agreed. Change in color helps, too.
Criticism are not just limited to the automotive world. Ouch: https://www.instagram.com/p/DY16g0OieDz/
A nicely informative article:
I think the Luce looks considerably better in red and yellow colors, and in “pure” profile or the rear 3/4 view.
