Expedition Max Platinum. To buy or lease?

Hello,
First I should get this out of the way. I normally buy, but for a truck this expensive, I’m wondering if this lease is something I should be considering instead.

I checked out edmunds and I think I have everything filled in correctly, however I’m fairly new to this. The LeaseHackr score is 8.9 years which I think is pretty good right?

I think the reason the score is so high really comes down to the particular dealer which is advertising $11,753 in total incentives which seems pretty great for a fully loaded Expedition Max Platinum with the heavy duty tow package.

That said, this is still a crazy expensive truck for what it is. If only there existed any other SUV out there that was as capable of towing an 8000 lb trailer. I’m currently driving a Yukon Denali and it works, but I believe this truck will do a better job.

Unfortunately, I don’t have any other tricks. I filled out the online form at Ford a few days ago so maybe I’ll get lucky and they’ll send a PCO in the mail.

Are there any other tricks I could apply to get this down even further?

Thanks!

Did you get this quote or are you just using their advertised discount number?

This is their advertised price. They claim they are not showing any incentives that I wouldn’t qualify for, but who knows if that’s the truth or not…

I was intending on reaching out via email with my intended lease details, but should I get an actual official price quote first?

Should reach out, price can be different for sale vs lease, different incentives etc.

Yep, sure enough. He said the lease price was $5k higher! That doesn’t help the situation…

Great hauler for sure however these thing fall off such a steep cliff from a resale standpoint which makes them awful lease candidates. You may be better off finding a used one to finance. I have seen these modern units at 45K with very little use.
