Any critique or tips offered is greatly appreciated!
Their first offer was $299 per month + $2281.36 down (which includes all fees, taxes, and first month). I countered with $200 per month and they wanted to meet somewhere in the middle. I later told them $230, and the sales started to ask for my credit card to speak to his manager, which I didn’t give him. Tax rate for me is 8.875%. BTW, does VW allow MSD? I know MSD is not allowed in NY in general, but does VW offer the option else where?

How did you come up with $200/month? Just picked a random number?

I just took 1% of the Turecar average and did some rounding. Still kinda random though lol.

Don’t negotiate monthly payments, negotiate selling price before rebates based on real world numbers. Then everything falls into place and you know what to fight for.

Definitely. I need to keep that in mind next time. When I told them I wanted to lease, negotiation just naturally shifted into monthly payment basis. Still new to this!
