EV9 Lease end opinions

What should I do with my lease?

2024 EV9 Land, will be over on mileage by 1000 miles or so, no big deal.

Should I turn it in or buy it?

Residual value is just under $47k and the lease ends July 18. Got a good deal on the lease, $0 down and $540/mo for 24 mo. So all-in, ill be in it for $60k, sticker was $74k

I like the car, wife not so much, we’d prefer something smaller, EV3 or R2, but I dont think either will be available by August.

TIA

EV leases are almost always a no brainer turn in due to massive depreciation…what values are you seeing online for your car? Carmax, Carvana, etc?

EV9 land won’t fetch your residual. Probably return.

Turn it in.

I didn’t know the EV3 was coming to the US

Was about the post the same thing. When I looked on CarGurus, I mainly values in the low $40K for EV9 Lands w/ < 10K miles.

I think it was, either, but a quick internet search indicates it might come in later 2026/2027.

If the macro issues remain unchanged, I personally doubt it’ll come.

maybe its the ev5.

$40k-48k retail prices.

Best to turn it in and get into another lease.

Theres plenty smaller EVs, why focus on the two that aren’t available

Those were the only ones in the pipeline that I was interested in. There also isnt any thing else currently on the market I would consider.

I like everything about the EV9 except for the size. So the EV5 was the obvious next choice.

There is nothing in the $50k range that is remotely competitive to my EV9.

Maybe the EX60 will arrive in time for me.

Why not turn the EV9 in, get into a private transfer temporarily until you can get an R2 or EV3? Iirc, R2 is reservable and should be coming out pretty soon so there is merit in returning your EV9 as opposed to taking a depreciation hit.

Is this actually coming to the US? Someone on /reddit posted that the Kia reps at the LA Auto show said that there was no planned launch date for the EV3 in the US….

I have no idea about the specifics of the EV3 - I was simply trying to make my point to OP. That being said, it doesn’t seem like it’s headed here anytime soon. We would’ve seen reports of it by now otherwise.
