I have contacted over 45 dealerships trying to put together a deal on a 2026 Kia EV9 GT-Line over the last 20ish days and have not been able to get above 8% off. The current offer ( 24/10,000 + base MF + $899 doc fee) I’m looking at is around 8% off plus $15,300 in rebates and that puts me at $579 p/m $579 DAS $76,625 MSRP. Worth waiting another couple of months or should I just give in now?
I agree. I’m looking at one tmmr and will probably sign it. Stuck between brown interior with no executive rear seats or black/gray interior with executive rear seats.
I still believe if in another 2-3 months inventory holds steady, perhaps I could get 10% off or more, seems to be at least 800 GT Lines nationwide. Am I mistaken to think then it would make sense for them to lose more? Can’t control the programs though so likely going to sign tmmr.
Do you think an ev9 is worth 579? I wonder if any other cars are available that are objectively better with NVH levels + features is available for less. Note I’m also in SC with sales tax capped at $500, certainly helps.
I’m actually working on an EV9 GT for a friend right now. Started the search a few days ago but this is for the SFO market, which has decent demand for these. My target is also 8%, which is very aggressive for the West Coast, especially on a GT. And we’re 100% flexible on exterior color and interior color. I’m at 4.1% right now but just started.
If you like the car, I think you’re at a pretty solid number with the $579, especially if you land on the options/color you want. These aren’t the old days with dirt cheap EV leases + these are really loaded at the GT level. Holdback on a GT is ~$1400-$2000 so they’re going pretty deep at 8%. Doubt you’ll get much more.
Is waiting 2-3 more months to potentially get 2% more of a discount (while also hoping programs stay the same or get better) and going thru contacting all of these dealers again worth your time?
Oh the good old EV days. Is the EV9 worth $570 a month? At basically 0.7% monthly payment to MSRP, I think that’s considered cheap now. I’m tracking everything from a Volvo EX30 to Cadillac Optiq to Polestar 4 to Lucid Gravity. Everything is just expensive compared to 2025.
Am I going to notice $50/mo in higher payment? No, but I just feel bad saying yes to it, lol.
I signed it tonight. Like another comment said beautifully “Am I going to notice $50/mo in higher payment? No, but I just feel bad saying yes to it, lol.”
Personally though, I quite enjoy the time spent working with dealers. Wouldn’t mind calling of them again next month LOL!
You enjoyed time with Kia dealers? lol. This is my first rodeo with them and it’s been rough. More than half don’t care, don’t call back, calls get auto disconnected… it’s a crapshoot with them.
Worked deals with so many other brands (luxury and not) and been largely a better and oftentimes enjoyable experience. For Kia, I cringe at calling the next dealer down my list lol
Dont focus on the monthly payment, focus on the selling price. 8% (over and above the 16K lease cash for the ev9) is crazy good. If 45 dealers tell you the same thing you know its not going much deeper. BUT from my experience, the dealers will always give you a better price when ask in person. they get a zillion quote asks over the phone or email from people like you and me . The salespeople don’t even return calls unless you are in person or you call back 3 times
My experience has been a little different lease hacking in Houston the last 20 years. I start by asking for an MSRP reduction, but when the deal is close, I switch to the monthly payment. I have enough respect for the sales manager to be able to make a deal without dictating where to put the numbers.
I really don’t care if the dealership added tint, nitrogen, and free car washes—I’m not going to argue over line items; it’s counterproductive. As long as the monthly is what I’m looking for—I don’t care how the dealership gets there.
Finally, gosh, I never let a dealership waste my time with in-person negotiations:
If the online gatekeeper is giving you the, “when do you want to come in and test drive,” bypass them with a call to the main sales line.
With whomever answers that call, establish you know the numbers and you’re serious—you have to be willing to sign “today.”
Then your deal will get passed along to a decision maker.
The inconvenient truth about lease hacking is that it’s asymmetrical pricing and price exploitation at its worst. The only reason 1 customer gets an exceptionally good deal is because 5 more overpaid.
Agreed with everything except not dictating the structure with sales mangers. But I suppose if you’ve done the math, shopping the payment will get you there.
When I tried to make a deal on one of these, before I knew about LH, I got as close as $600/mo with $3K DAS and I wanted them to come down to $1500 DAS and they wouldn’t budge. Your deal, on a 2026 nonetheless, in this economy, will not win any unicorn awards but I feel it’s a SOLID deal!
I’m currently working on a deal myself on a GT Line and the MF being quoted out of Texas, registering in OK is much higher than I have seen here. Dealership in Dallas is saying “Tier 1 buy rate for GT Line is .00229” What are you current shoppers seeing on your worksheets?
