What pattern did you use to rotate your tires. Thanks for sharing!
I just checked my car and it’s so disappointing that the OEM tires start with 8/32! And you need to replace them / get dinged if they go below 4/32!
See this.
Update in EQE tire wear at 19K miles with Cooper tires. Rears are 2/32 and fronts are 4/32. Quoted $1400 including alignment by the dealer. I can get this done for half the cost but I should have considered tire cost as they wouldn’t survive even in 24 months lease.
My 2022 Tesla Y LR has 22000 miles and still has the 19" OEM tires Continental Procontact RX, I did replace one a couple of weeks ago due to a shoulder leak but two are still at 7/32 and one is at 5/32 with normal driving. Tesla did the replacement work and charged more than a usual tire shop would but I had Tesla credits so didn’t pay out of pocket.
Is that $1400 for 2 or 4 tires with alignment? If it’s 4, thats a great price at a dealership
My Ariya is under 4 at 15k at I’m probably going to put normal tires on it to last the rest of the lease.
Why do you need wheel alignment just for changing tires? I thought wheel alignment are only needed if you replaced suspension etc.
Depending on how hard you drive you can put your tires out of alignment. On a typical short term lease, why bother spending $100 if they are only slight out of alignment
I have 5000 miles on my E-Trong, down to 8/32 from 9/32 so far.
What’s the make and model of your tires?
Potholes!!! But, yeah, usually no good reason to align if you’re throwing on replacements shortly before returning the lease. If the alignment is bad and you still got time on the lease, then you don’t want to chew up the replacements.
They are Pirelli OEM all seasons.
What’s the exact model?
Sorry, had to look it up. Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season
BTW, is yours an SUV or GT?
Premium Plus GT
even though those tires are supposedly to last 60k if you buy them yourself
This is often because the manufacturer specifies a different tire compound for the same model of tire. So the one you get off-the-shelf is very different from what comes with the vehicle.
Of course they are. It’s evident by their lifespan.
4 tires. 202020
