I’m assuming that’s on ECO mode. Charged MY25 SEL rwd the other day at 80% and the car shows 345 miles. Hopefully Hyundai will fix the ICCU issues some owners are dealing with. Other than that and the terrible turn radius, I’m happy with it.
Correct. I have an SEL AWD. Only issue I’ve had was having to replace my 12V battery a few months ago.
Wired wasn’t alone in being unimpressed. Actual car mags were also unimpressed:
I sold a Model Y last year and recently leased a Lexus RZ for really cheap. Even if a lease was off the table I’d seriously consider buying the Lexus indirectly
$50k MSRP less 15% dealer discount less $13,000 lease cash plus acq plus tax.
Not counting any local rebates
Similar math applies to Hyundai and several others EVs with big lease cash at the moment
Tesla build quality is abysmal (shows after a year or two) and nothing has changed on that front IMO.
Does Hyundai charge an early turn in fee? I have a13 month ioniq lease I’d really like to turn in before paying another year’s registration
You can turn it in just before registration is due
I’m gonna do the same, no fees
Elon will only do what Elon wants to do plain and simple. In part, what makes him loved or hated because his actions feel extreme to most. I find someone refreshing who isn’t afraid to look anyone in the eyes and tell them to go F* themselves.
I truly think he’s a great visionary. He could flip sides of the aisle and have a baby with AOC, and I’d say the same thing.
Let’s try to stay on topic. Thank you.
Thanks, I knew that was coming, but I am not interested in used with 35k+ miles and who knows how many DCFC sessions to 100%.
Am not under a time crunch so I am optimistic I can find an alternative at a similar price point. The Cadillac Optiq looks really nice, big $ spread to cover with incentives and negotiation.
I love EVs but buying a new one doesn’t make much sense unless your buying out your lease, but even then you are likely to get killed by depreciation. Battery degradation is overrated. Most used EVs have the battery status checked and rated so you know how much degradation there is. Used EVs are one of the few bargains left out there, relatively speaking. If you like Audi they are offering .99% interest this month on their certified used cars.
I’d have agreed with this statement when the model S was making most legacy luxury full size ICE sedans obsolete. What boundaries have they pushed since the first generation of their products?
At this point they are benefiting more from protectionism than innovation. Tesla is really struggling in markets where they face global competition.
It seems pretty clear that the next big leap will be in battery technology, almost certainly moving to solid state or maybe even semi solid state. It doesn’t seem like Tesla is leading the charge in that.
There is not exactly an “early turn in” fee, but you are responsible for any remaining payments, plus the termination fee in the 4-600 range. I just turned my Ioniq 6 in a month early and can’t remember the exact turn in fee. Just make sure you get paperwork showing you dropped it off and grounded the lease. Once you have the signed documents, you are off the hook for registration etc. it is no longer your vehicle.
