EV Autopilot/Adaptive Cruise Control

Hi LH Gang,

Looking for some feedback from owners. Outside of range, the 2nd most important feature is the AutoPilot/Adaptive Cruise Control because of my long commute. That is the last and only reason holding me back from getting rid of my Tesla.

I have tried both Benz (eqs450) and BMW (m550i) adaptive cruise control features. My observation is the following: jerky on wide turns/trouble staying in the lane, feature will occasionally turn off, and flat out unreliable.

I am curious to see what other better options are out there for this feature. Look forward to hearing the owner feedback.

Thanks

I find DA Pro (BMW) to be a lot smoother on the BEV’s

Super cruise

I will second GM Super Cruise. Have it on my Lyriq and it is excellent. I think it works best on an Ultium platform BEV but the gas version is also quite good from what I have heard. The cars with the newest hardware will be best (so not the Bolt, Cadillac XT5, or Cadillac XT6, if I understand correctly).

+1 for Super Cruise when it works. On my Hummer, it’s a little flakey in that it disengages maybe 10% of the time, but it’s so relaxing on long drives to not have to constantly put the hand on the wheel every so often. I thought the EQS was better than the really janky Audi DAS. I’d give it to Tesla for #2, but haven’t tried BMW’s DA Pro.

-1 for Nissan’s Pro Pilot, it tries but still ping pongs you around a little.

OpenPilot in my Sonata is GOLDEN!

Worst auto pilot/adaptive cruise control, lane tracking is on Rivian.
