My Eat Wrong Tea can be charged from either side, but only the passenger side supports the fastest charging.
Is this 14-50 the type of plug that runs from a high speed charger and attaches to the passenger side, and the other a slower-charging connector type that works in either port?

The plug side of the evse that plugs into your wall outlet. Youre currently using the 5-15p that is a normal 110v, 15 amp capable plug. Some thing most of your electronics in your home use. This will allow your level 1 charging.
If you swap the plug out for the other one in the kit, youll put a nema 14-50 plug on. This allows you to plug in to a 240v 50 amp capablr plug for level 2 chsrging. Itll charge about 8 times faster

That also adds some context to what the salesperson told me, although I’ll need some help there too.
She mentioned that I could essentially delay obsolescence of the wall plug by putting in the next level up(?) from 14-50, which would also be backward-compatible to what I need for L2 charging for this car today.
I would have the electrician install adequate wiring to support a 60 to 80 amp load, then install a 50 amp breaker and a nema 14-50 outlet. In the future, if you want to move to a higher amp evse, you can just swap the breaker out for a 80 amp and hardwire in a higher rated evse.
You can go up to 100 if you’re feeling frisky. The main idea is that running the wires is the expensive part, so be sure to give yourself lots of headroom.
There will be some additional and non-trivial dollar out of your pocket, and I’m not really sure what for? Possibly a future EV that charges faster at home? Does home charging need to be faster? What’s the difference between 2.5 hours overnight vs 5 hours overnight?
