My dealership is offering a one-pay lease of $57K for an 2024 AMG EQS (MSRP $150K) with 12,000 miles/year for 3 years, as I don’t qualify for monthly leasing terms. Alternatively, I’m looking at purchasing a used 2022 EQS 580 10k miles for $65K.
Given the significant MSRP of the AMG, does the one-pay lease make more sense, or would the used EQS 580 be the better option for long-term value? I’d love some advice from those familiar with these models!
The thought of writing a check for $57k for a lease on an EQS makes me nauseous, as does the thought of financing a 3 year old one that will be out from under warranty soon. I’ve never heard “used EQS” and “long term value” used in the same sentence.
If you’re dead set on an EQS then I’d go the new route, but definitely not with that nonsense. Lots of MB brokers on here, see what they’re offering.
Welcome to the site! I’d recommend you spend some time researching the EQ line here. Start with the monster EQS thread part 2. No one here would ever recommend buying a used EV, and to pay $57k to lease this car is absurd.
One of the best hackers here got one of those for a $7,200 one pay. Not likely you can do the same, but it highlights the vast gulf between what you’re considering and what the savviest people can do. You’ll want to get as close to that other number as possible, and you can learn that know-how here. It won’t be easy but it’ll be worth it.
Lots of used EQS hate here, but it’s a good option for a balloon loan with return rider. You can always extend the warranty via the MB ELW program. Biggest issue going this route is you are paying tax on the full purchase price, which is probably non-trivial.
IMO, if he can’t get approved for a closed end lease without closing it all at signing with a one-pay, he won’t get approved for an open end lease balloon.
If you have good credit (720+) and a stable income, I would suggest financing something cheaper (like a new Honda or Toyota). It will help you build an auto-laon history.
I was in the process of finalizing a lease for an AMG EQS with Edward, who informed me on Tuesday that the lease was approved and the paperwork was ready for signing. However, I have not heard back from him since then, and there has been no further communication.
I am sorry. I thought our finance manager gave you a call.
Sorry, we are both new to this dealership. I will be sure that you will get a call. I apologize— it’s been done and Edward and I have been working hard to get your deal completed. Sorry to put this out publicly
