Wondering if I’m looking for a lease at the end of the month - could I simply hold off on delivery and see if there are better incentives offered the following month? Also just wondering in general if I need to take delivery immediately or how long I can potentially delay?
Most places will have you put a deposit down in addition to submitting the credit app which more or less locks the deal in for that month. You can absolutely back out since nothing is signed, but at the risk of losing your deposit. I’ve seen cases where dealers keep it or give it back. You’ll have to ask.
You’ll likely be expected to take delivery within a few days though.
I’ve gotten my deposit back, I dont know if it varies by state but I’m in NY and legally you can ask for your deposit back within 3 says. They should have no choice at that point. But… do you have new incentives within 3 days?
I think the credit app is the only thing needed to lock the incentives in at months end since it’s for BMWF, not the actual dealer. The dealer can decide what it wants to “hold” a specific car.
The app is ONLY good at that specific dealer for the previous month lock, but can be used at any dealer for the current month within 30 days I believe.
The updated lease numbers are usually available immediately on the BMW website once the new month starts, you just need to reserve engineer the posted deal to determine MF and RV to go with the posted incentives.

You can, however it is up to the dealer to maintain that discount for the next month. If its a very good deal and dealer is going pretty deep to meet that current months goals, its because they want the car off the lot that month.

If a dealership or salesperson wants to meet a sales goal for that month, it would be contingent on taking delivery that month.
If you end up taking delivery even a day into a new month, you may cost the salesperson their hard-earned bonus.
Of course, they will probably still make the deal, but I feel if you agree to a deal and the salesperson worked hard to earn your business, you should ask them if it makes any difference to them whether you delay delivery by a few days.
