End of Lease > Leasing New Vehicle

Hey Guys!

Long time, no post

The lease on my 2018 Alfa Romeo Giulia is ending in July. I have 1 more payment due in June.
I’ve been working on some deals over the past few weeks and think I’ve found one that I want to go with.
Is there any risk to going ahead and leasing the new vehicle, keeping the Alfa until the end date, then just turning it in?
Or is it better to just wait it out completely until July? (Obviously outside of the fact of making multiple car payments. Negotiating around that.)

Thank you!

Other than the extra payment, not really. I have done the same before.

Nope I’ve done it more than once: secured the new lease and parked it, continued to mile-up the current one until disposition.

Obviously you carry insurance on both for a period of time and then cancel the outgoing lease, so you’ll spend a couple bucks extra there.

You sure the deal is good enough to justify the multiple payments and insurance?

Not quite yet. At $426/month on a TLX A-Spec SH-AWD.

However I don’t think I’m getting any further without going to the dealer, driving the car, and making final demands.

I just want to be prepared to sign if everything goes my way at that time.
