I guess this etron literally lives up to its french translation.

RIP. 10char
Does anyone know if EA is supposed to extend 30-minute free window if charging speeds drop below certain level? I thought I read something along those lines way back but can neither recall nor find it.
I got burned by this new/old 30-minute limit on 11/1, which I guess was the first day it became effective (new to me since there was no limit when I first got this car). No notification of any sort that they started charging which I told them is possibly in violation of CA state law since the price is not properly posted and there is no warning of change in rates. EA tried to deflect first to MBZ, then to ChargePoint since CP handles their payment processing. I was losing my voice during that phone call but absolutely snapped at them for trying to blame anyone and everyone but never accept any responsibility for their gazillion problems. I was walking my dog in circles around that station/mall and wanted to leave much earlier, except the speed topped out in the 60s, so I was there for about 75 minutes and was still not fully charged. Other chargers were all over the place from low 40s to just over 100.
This was at the Topanga station, Encino was much worse last time I was there: I was the “speed demon” at mid 40s, all others were in the 20s from the get-go.
One working, I’m third in line.
This was a 40-minute wait to charge. They were actively working to fix two of the plugs, one they fixed while I was there, and I was able to get from 15% to 65% in about 20 minutes. During that time, 5 others had queued up and the only other plug was occupied by a Walmart+ van, maxing out the 150 at 60.
0 stars. After they fixed the first plug, the tech was all checking out my car, asking me how much I paid, instead of finishing fixing the second plug. This is why people don’t buy EVs.
A few times where I ran into cable cooling issues limiting to 100 amps / ~40kw, I called them to complain and report issue. They activated charger for me in “courtesy” mode, free charge with no time limit.
Yep if cable cooling is kaput it’ll go into this failsafe and charge on the slow end.
I’ve seen this a few times. Try not to grab the cable/handle bare handed post session: it gets HOT.
Can it damage the car when this hot? I’ve seen cables get very warm but haven’t experienced where it’s too hot to touch
LOL I wonder what is the charging rate
Insane……going to apply would love to get paid while the semi charging ![]()
wow, the true power of internet marketing, while the whole world was watching Tesla and their pretend truck, Volvo just went and made one, quietly, without fanfare outisde of industry circles, just there it is and ready to work and in multiple configurations to boot. I saw that there are european competitors in EV trucks, but didn’t realize there was one in the US as well.
And then you have a 5-star experience like this with open plugs, high speeds (fastest I have ever experienced) and a nice, covered facility. Yes, I had to pay $3 to park but whatever…
Umm…that’s why it was nice..lol. What I can’t park for FREE???
Third charging stop on my trip was at an EVgo. Plug maxed out at 30kW and some local decided to disconnect me at 84%, while I had walked away to get a slice of pizza. Maybe we just need a better relative comparison to EA then Tesla S/C… and I didnt want to start and EVgo thread.
Older EVGo stations (that one looks like an older one) often have a hard time limit per session. How long were you plugged in for?
When’s the Tesla coming? ![]()
OOOOOF dealbreaker if no 7500?
@z0lt3c coming back to the T gang with these shenanigans
