Who wants to see if those Bolt chargers are charging free? (May have a 2nd car with free charging)
EA has the ability to cross check this, but it is very case by case and likely only in extreme cases where abuse is highly apparent.
Keeping the mileage low for sale. Wonder if the tow truck took it back home as well.
Tell me you’re just trolling us. No way the creator of this thread on EA experiences (mostly not favorable btw) makes someone wait when they’re at 99% charge.
Here is a new one. Pull up into the EA charger in Rensselaer, NY at 8%. Charger showed all 6 plugs open and working. I arrive and find a crew painting lines. They tell me the charger is closed. I tell them I have no range to go elsewhere, and I am charging regardless. Imagine this in full-on Jersey mode, pretty close to shanking mode.
Eventually they agree to give me 10 minutes to get up to 100 miles so I can make the next charger. Meanwhile, they go and paint the line next to my vehicle. Like they couldn’t have waited 10 minutes to do that line. Paint splatter on my tires… I don’t get along well with road paint.
Strangest experience yet. Imagine closing a gas station to paint lines.
Are evolve units free if you have free electrify America charging
Yes, evolve honor EA promotions. The ones I use in NY are about $0.10 cheaper then EA as well.
There’s a couple that are at buc-ee’s, one in AL specifically that EA also honors the unlimited pass on.
Lmaooooo that’s @TheSmoke09 painting those lines ![]()

This was from the iX discussion and since we also touched on this topic here I just wanted to bring it in from there.
I agree with the above, and like @IAC said, have both L2 and L3 chargers and incentivize L2 usage.
Same location I posted my 2 Kia Niro’s with 5+ hours idling and the Mini SE/Bolt at 30 mins+ with only 3/4 chargers working.
That location is horrible, needs to be at least double the size, and given the nature of it there will always be entitled people who just use them as parking spots, or tourists who have no idea what they’re doing and just park there for 5 hours while they shop, etc.
Newburgh not looking so bad now is it? ![]()
Newburgh is 100x worse. My preferred stop going South is in Kingston.
Ehh, I thought it was okay and being right off 84 suited me just fine. The Walmart there was honestly no worse than the one @ EA Albany.

I’ve had similar experiences at this site multiple times.
The amount of time that it is out of the way in both directions makes it not worth it.
I suppose.
On that note based on experience with a Loaner iX lately it appears that at least as long as the vehicle is the same brand the comped passes still work on all EA types of equipment (ABB, BTC, Signet)
I like to make it a race.
ID4 started right before me at 20% I’m at 11%.
21 minutes later I’m at 80% and they are 72%.
