Electrify America - Experiences and Discussion

Yeah that’s the issue. It have to wait hour to just charge, maybe easier to just take ICE vehicle. I really wanted to enjoy the RS on straightaways right before VA

Which app is using this? Seems cool!

Anyone know if Audi has built in EA charging locators kind of like how Tesla does it?

Personally, since I have a lead foot and run aircon, I up my wattage consumption by 25%, means I always have extra battery when I’m at stations.

No waiting to fill back up in 11 months of ownership. Superfast and premium filling has cost me about $176 per month and I have not had any range envy.

We are not the same:) Just like I drove my ICE car on light showing 3 miles of range left before pulling into gas station, I did the same few times with Leaf when it could not even calculate if I had1 or 2 miles left before pulling to a charger station😂

That’s nice of this charger to give the wee ones some entertainment during the charging time.

That looks like something out of a saw movie

So that’s why these Manufacturers are giving free charging for two years at EA stations? Because they’re basically giving you nothing, but it’s free?

Is EVGO better in NJ? I have an iX xDrive50 coming and it’s 144 miles each way to Atlatntic City so I’d be cutting it close even with a full charge.

No but they can vape while delivering Eats/Flex instead

EVGO is more, or less, the same experience as EA in NJ. The EVGO stations have slightly less traffic, but more slow charging Bolts and Leafs, and less overall plugs. I will use either but prefer EA. The EA station in Lakewood is right off the Parkway and, out side peak summer season, is better experience then most in NJ. Also, many AC destinations offer charging now, sometimes it requires valet.

Don’t know about NJ but here in lower CT there are barely any. When they have any installed it is usually one or two charger. Most of what I’ve seen are rated 50kwn. Very few 150kwh.

Feels like EVgo is dying but can’t.

Borgata says 6 Tesla destination chargers when using valet so that doesn’t help me much.
I ordered a Tesla Tap Mini 60 amp just in case but I doubt valet would handle it properly.

Having done that trip, it’s just easier with an ICEV. I wouldn’t even take a Tesla on that trip.

BEVs are awesome for most other use cases.

I got a GLE450e from dealer while my 63 in shop for 6+ months so decided to take that up and keep miles off my cars lol

Cold battery? I don’t think the ID4 can charge at max rates in freezing temps.

Could be. Can’t say it was freezing but definitely in the low 30s.

I guess I have to wait for the summer to see if things change😂

I’ve seen some posts on reddit that might align with your experience of maxing out at 50kW in cold temps.

It was also already at 61% battery. Isn’t the speed suppose to decrease as the battery charge % increases?

I’ve been under the impression that it drops significantly once it reaches 80%, but below that, it should have a much faster speed without slowdowns.
But now I question even that.
