I also got an extra ~$600 back from my old lease trade in as I had an appraisal done at Carmax the previous day, came in more than the buyout price and the dealer matched it. Applied the ~$600 to the new car to bring payments to $301 per month.
Any way you could post a screen of the agreement? I am looking to do a CX-5 deal this week in Colorado and it would be useful. Shooting for similar 9% discount 0001 MF but on a Touring with Preferred Package.
MF and residual is different on a Touring vs Grand Select trim.
For me Touring was 55% Residual and .00059 MF (-$1,300 Lease cash from Mazda)
vs
Grand Select 60% Residual and .00001 MF (-$1,470 Lease cash from Mazda)
I’d be glad to share my actuals, let me know where to send
What’s GS incentive? I’m close to getting the deal I want but having some trouble pitting the dealerships against each other cause of the market incentive I believe. All the GS’s here are typically 31350~, I have one dealership down to 339, 339 due but either the other dealerships are dumb or the $330 market rebate is super targeted. The dealership with the 339 offer is in a rural area so maybe they’re getting it from Mazda to compete with the bigger dealerships by me? Also can’t get a dealership with like 40 17 GS’s to go lower than this dealership which has 2.
GS FWD MSPR should be $28,895 + $940 destination = $29,835 starting point (add any other options on the vehicle).
Negotiate a discount, 9% is achievable so
-$2,685
On the GS, Mazda corporate will take off:
-$1,470 lease cash (vs -$1,300 for the Touring trim level)
and if you qualify:
-$750 Lease loyalty (if you had leased thru them previously)
take these 2 off of your best negotiated price as they come from Mazda and go directly to your dealer
Even with the dealer keeping all of their excessive fees, etc, this scenario got me to $321 / mo zero down, 10k per year. Not the best deal, but good enough for me.
Some dealers are more motivated than others. My normal dealer would not budge off of $350 per month, the one I did a deal with gave me the best price over the phone with basically zero haggling - but they knew I knew my numbers and was ready to close.
The deal was for sister-in-law, will share once I have it available.
But in all honesty it came out to about a 6% discount, which was a bit weak I think, but the color combo she wanted only yielded 1 result within 100 miles from what I was able to find.
@purz I asked the dealer what the GS incentive was, and he just said it was a limited time additional discount aimed only towards the Grand Select models. I was able to verify on TrueCar as well.
“2017 Mazda CX-5 Grand Select Bonus Customer Cash $500
See dealer for details. (Expires 1/2/2018)”
In all honesty, if I was doing the deal for myself, I would push for a much larger discount because I’m open to colors/options. We went to the dealer on a Friday evening (6-7pm) and I believe they’re the #1 volume dealer, an it was QUIET. I don’t think I saw a single customer in there till we were about getting ready to leave, and it seemed that person had an appt with my same sales guy.
Hey thomapa1 - could you tell me which dealer you went to? I’m in Atlanta and having a hard time getting anyone below 27,000 including the $1900 lease cash currently offered.
Jim Ellis Marietta - Rick Brown
