Check the numbers on the 24/12

You can move your posts. Since you already created this other thread, I closed your old one for you.

Regarding you deal, did the dealer just rollover the $3300 in mileage penalty? What about the pull-ahead? Make sure that was taken cared of by BMWFS and not rolled into this lease.

Had not considered 24 months but will definitely check on that.

They have said they will send a check to BMWFS for the items listed (miles, damages, months owed until the lease expires), so it won’t be rolled in. I’ll be checking the numbers very carefully to ensure it is not. And thank you for closing that other thread, I meant to post in here.

Them sending a check to BMWFS sounds like they are rolling it into your new lease.

Does that mean the sale price could otherwise be $5400 cheaper? ~$18k off MSRP?

Doubtful. You need a full breakdown to see how they structured the deal.

Ok got it. I should receive that this evening.

So how did I do?

Pretty sure we are going to pick this up on Saturday and turn in the 428 convertible

Car is pretty much loaded - Sport Line, Cold Weather Package, Driver Assistance Package, Premium Package, Nav and Harmon Kardon Sound.

Personally I wouldn’t be pulling the trigger on that. 16% discount isn’t a whole lot on a loaner like that. Fair amount of rebates, but the residual is a killer. 24/12k month 3-series are going for 66% residual.

Are you dead set on a 4-series sedan? 3-series GT might be a better buy if you are worried about the payment.

EDIT: Oh wait, just read the first part, That is with the dealer rolling in the $4k in mileage/damage/payments?

Yes it is. Includes us walking from that with no $ out of pocket. My goal was to get out of her 16k over the miles 428 convertible lease as painlessly as possible and a payment around $500.

Well that $4000 adds in another $100+ a month. Doesn’t seem so bad.

In that case I’d say it’s pretty decent. Hard to get around that residual, and picking up those $4k in excess charges is equivalent to $110 a month.

Yes good deal since you are wrapping around 4k of negative equity in this lease…

Thanks everyone. I was thinking I did pretty ok, but I am born skeptic, especially when it comes to car dealers.

Just make sure you pick the right mileage on this lease so you don’t go over again.

Yep, this was my wifes car and she commutes and drives a lot. Bad call to lease this, but it was before we were engaged and she did it on impulse. This will be my vehicle and I work from home. I could probably get away with 10k per year, but didn’t want to risk it.

indirectly it was rolled into the lease. They compensated by leaving the CAP cost at 44k (whilst verbally agreeing to a 40k sales price) Check the paperwork…

You’re sure you want to go ahead with her? just kidding … check Marriage hackr

The part which is nice is it shows that their cost in this car is 39k but they are selling it at 44k. 5k profit on a loaner unit - not bad …
