Does GM Financial offer no additional miles on lease extension?

I requested a couple months lease extension on 2017 Chevy Equinox. The lease maturity agent indicated that GM Financial does not offer additional miles on lease extension and I will still only have the 20k miles that came along with the original contract (24 mo 10k/year)

I have received contradictory information online on this topic. Does anyone know if the information about no additional miles on lease extension is correct? TIO!

They add miles per month equal to your contract. This was per phone calls, not verified by written agreement.

I had a similar experience…called in and requested an additional month and was turned down. So I waited a couple of days and called in and was given the month I requested and 900 miles.

Makes you wonder about GM. You’d think they had solid rules for extending lease (or not) and would stick to those rules.

GM is just like every big company…a lot of things fall through the cracks. Despite endless meetings and many “supervisors” you will find a very low level of competence caused by corporate misfeasance.
The key is to not give up.

I just spoke with GMF on the phone, was exploring options for lease end (coming up in a few months.) The customer service agent politely said that they could extend the lease in 1-2 month increments at a time, up to 6 months total. The monthly rate would stay at the same current payment amount. However, certain conditions apply: you have to qualify for the extension, including family/financial/medical hardship, AND there would be no additional miles added to the original lease term.
For me, this pretty much rules out a lease extension and could possibly mean GMF losing me as a customer after my current lease is expired.

Acura is far for reasonable. as reasonable as you would expect.

  • can extend up to 2 times (6 months max for 1 term). So maximum is 2* 6 = 12 months
  • you pay taxes for the extension up front for the number of months
  • you pay the monthly rate
  • you get extra miles per month according to original term(10k/12k/15k).

I see nothing unfair in doing a lease extension and I may just do one for few months if I can’t commit to a new car soon.

Had same experience on my Acadia…addl month or two…NO addl miles

I extended my lease with HONDA a few years ago because I wanted to wait for the newest model. I had the same monthly payments and received the same mileages per month as agreed on the signed lease which was 15000/45000. I didn’t have to pay any extra fees or taxes. I could extend it 2 times if needed. Ive always leased through AHFS so I’m not sure if that made a difference or not.
