Wondering if any one recommends purchasing the excess wear insurance for a lease from Hyundai? It’s 500 dollars and covers your for any excess wear items at the end of the lease up to 5K.
Thanks,
John

Where’s our resident Hyundai shill @AA-NJ
I did not purchase it on my last 2 Hyundai leases
Also would love to know, first time leasing with Hyundai and not sure how forgiving they are on the lease turn in damage.
FYI remember, don’t drive on tires less than 4/32” in the winter
Even if you prepaid for the right to turn in your lease with bald tires
Whether or not to get EWU coverage is always a subjective question.
I recommend EWU coverage in the case of
Otherwise, I simply recommend saving money and being careful driving and parking!
Hyundai is not ambiguous about what constitutes “excess” wear/use.
Hyundai has two useful tools for approximating damage:
Hyundai Lease Wear/Tear Estimation Tool
(print and cut out this card, I keep it in the car!)
Hyundai Lease End Self Assessment
Select your model, and click Guide Me!
This tells you how much each piece of damage (larger than what’s on the above card) would cost.
I don’t have any of those issues but do park at a crowded MBTA lot, so I splurged and got it.
Thanks
John
