Not that it matters, but Tesla FSD keeps on parking into this “NO PARKING” spot next to the Handicapped Parking space at my apartment complex haha, otherwise it is great-but not THE GREATEST
Haha Love people that DON’T TIP on a split check at a restaurant on the gift card/cash portion of the transaction, just the CC amount.
Are you on FSD 14.2 or still on the stable version the new Tesla’s ship with initially? I drove one with 14.2 on a Mad Max profile the other day, and I was very impressed.
FSD 14.2 they sent us the 30 day Free trial again… it is very good/great. Just a couple of quirks but otherwise very impressed. Not as much “nagging” as previous versions, but I still can’t justify paying for it haha Maybe subscribe monthly with my expiring credits…have about $1500 to use or lose (essentially FREE to me) will see

It’s preposterous to require me to mash my credit card number into the keypad in order to talk to someone, which wouldn’t even be required if your self-serve options were half as useful as booking through the airline directly.
I already regret using your OTA, and I almost never carry your shitty cards with me – especially when I travel.
Attn: Amex Travel
It’s preposterous for your booking site to time out on the search results page every time I get interrupted for more than 12 seconds.
I did for the first time as well and was super impressed. Can’t bring myself to own a tesla but couldn’t believe how excellent FSD is now. Wish other automakers would follow suit
It will be a tough business decision for Elon. Do you sell the tech to others, or do you hold on tight and hope the adoption comes to Tesla only? Either way, credit to a guy who never gave up on his vision of perfecting FSD.
Kinda, sorta, not really…
California hates him for moving to Texas. 14.2 FSD is amazing. Take my word for it. That’s largely over petty marketing as well.
Yeah, don’t really know and also don’t really care.
Whether the issue is over marketing or not, he can complain all that he wants and not change it but I doubt he wants to give up his biggest market in the U.S.
As much as I despise Elon, he developed a technology that literally takes you from inside your garage to a parking spot at your destination with zero human intervention and no other automaker is even close to achieving it. I’m more frustrated about that than anything since I want that for my daily driving but don’t want to support him by owning a tesla ![]()
This is probably more compelling evidence than my “take my word for it” ![]()
But yes, Tesla FSD is nothing short of incredible. I use it everyday.
Okay. I gave it a try with my free trial today and I honestly didn’t hate it. Mad Max setting is it but occasionally still is a bit skittish.
It isn’t perfect; sometimes it does weird lane changes and confuses itself on unfamiliar roads, but it’s more than you could ask for if you just want to be chauffeured around and not have to touch anything. You can’t sleep while it’s driving but it drives better than 90% of drivers on the road in SoCal.
Just did a round of calls looking for home warranty coverage.
Wow.
Don’t bother. When you need it, they only send out companies that you would never choose on your own. Companies that are desperate for any and all work.
I’m going into this aware of the risks and drawbacks, and rarely consider coverage like this.
Problem statement: I have a 21 yo HVAC system. 2+ years ago I had to either make an AC repair to delay the inevitable or replace it for ~$13k. I chose to apply the Band-Aid.
In this case I’m not buying peace of mind it’s basically an actuarial decision. ![]()
If there’s a better way to mitigate this specific risk, I’m open to suggestions.
Buy new HVAC lol
21 is old. They don’t live that long anymore. I replaced mine last year after all band aids, and it was maybe 14 yo.
At very least I would check to see if they pro-rate the claim amount in any way since your hvac is that old. I’m sure many try to do that. I had a warranty for the first year in my home and same situation, hvac was almost as old and they kept wanting to fix it instead of replacing regardless of how many recommendations and 2nd opinions I received. It was a headache.
I appreciate the constructive suggestions.
We don’t plan to keep the home that long. Best guess is 2-5 years (and if it was my sole decision we would have bought a different place in December and I’d be picking out furniture right now).
I just need it to work until the next buyer’s inspector arrives. ![]()
There is no proration.
I just got the sample contract, so I haven’t yet consumed the whole thing.
HVAC is addressed on the second and third pages.

I’m looking at the Essential Plan, which is $372 for the first year (with $200 promo code applied), and which will obviously be more in subsequent years. Service calls at that premium are $125 each (takes 3 service calls a year to come out ahead at the $100-per-call level based on the additional cost).
