DMV rolled in payment?

,

If dealer in NY says “you can’t roll in DMV fees (new plates and registration) into monthly payment” is it true or a lie?

Depends on how creative you are, you could always structure the deal for them to write you a check back for whatever that amount is. I don’t know much about New York, so maybe that’s not possible

If you can roll in taxes, you can roll in dmv fees.

If you’re willing to walk bc they want you to pay a couple hundred bucks for DMV then it seems the issue is more based on principle. It’s not such a big deal

Was thinking the same

Agreed.
I just wanted to understand. It’s silly to walk for such a small detail.

You can do a zero drive-off in NY. You can also mitigate the DMV fees by transferring your plates. Depending on the car, it’ll be about $63-$77 to transfer versus about $250 for new plates.

I rolled everything into my monthly and the dealer paid the first month, $209 on Clarity PHEV base, NY.This was for a new registration.
