I’ve been looking to buy an ev9 2026 since I haven’t been able to find a good lease for one here in TX. I was offered a demo vehicle for purchase but I figured I’d ask here, would a demo vehicle be a good lease option?
The Kia 2025 doesn’t qualify for the 7.5k tax credit for purchase but I know dealerships can pass through the credit they receive on a lease. Seems like it could be a good lease option
You don’t want to buy an EV, they are depreciating at a must faster rate than an ICE vehicle. This is a vehicle you would lease.

You want to lease and you want tax credits in Texas on an EV, or you’ll be paying the full tax amount even though it’s a lease. @valek.jw is correct, you’re better off leasing an EV in most cases since they depreciate like crazy.
Why the EV9? Blazers and Equinoxes are leasing extraordinarily well.

For sure ask if sales tax credits are available. But they aren’t always. Finding a vehicle that has sales tax credits available in TX makes a big difference in what you’ll pay. I don’t know how often Kia offers sales tax credits.
Also, you’ll probably find that Kia sales staff are not going to be very knowledgable about what a “sales tax credit” even is. So many salespeople that aren’t too savvy think you’re talking about the sales tax credit you get when you trade one vehicle in on another and only pay the sales tax on the difference in cost between the two cars.
