I imagine you could probably replicate 15% at a handful of dealers around the nation. Push that discount a little more and that’s where the money’s at. Especially since they quickly agreed to your 15% proposal

Yeah that’s what I was thinking. I originally aimed for a sales price of $46000 as I’ve been able to get more significant discounts on the previous demos I’ve leased.

I received the impression that I was asking too much and then I threw a smaller number but the numbers still aren’t exactly where I need to be to get my friend into this car.

I’ll try to push and if no dice then I’ll have to expand my search.

Turns out the vehicle also had 7k in previous body damage repair. When I asked for $2k more off putting the total discount at just under 20% I was told “I shouldn’t expect to get a 57k car under $400.” The whole reason it was going to be under $400 was because I was putting a large cap reduction as down payment.

Anyway I walked away.
