I Applied for Acura ILX lease and the application was declined because I worked as an Uber driver. The financial department said using a leased car for uber/lyft is against the policy and They think I am going to use the vehicle for Uber and didn’t approve. Will I ever be able to get approved from Acura even if I wait for few months? I don’t know what to do right now. Any advice would be appriciated
Is Uber your only job? If you have another job then don’t mention uber next time.
Try a different make, some make used to even offer a discount to uber drivers.
As a side note, this is interesting. The finance company wants nothing to do with uber/lyft drivers that they won’t even lease a car to one.
How did they know you drove for Uber?
Maybe it’s insurance related. Personal insurance excludes commercial use, and if you told them you get income from uber but gave proof of insurance that does not actually cover that use, I can see why they’d do this.
If you total the car and insurance denies the claim because of a policy violation they are out the money or have to sue you personally for it.
