Yeah, I know that historically these are cars you own, not lease…
Either way, my Sierra EV has been in the shop for 50 days and I’ve started the process to lemon it.
We just had twins and the freaking strollers won’t fit any mid-size 3 row SUV trunk (w/ 3rd row up). Even in the Tahoe’s the trunk gets small…
My alternatives are either the Suburban, Yukon XL, Expedition Max and the minivans.
Has anyone here done any research recently on these categories? Any deals to be had?
How many kids do you have? Do you use the 3rd row on a regular basis?

2026 Chrysler Pacifica has a really good Money Factor right now and some rebates that might be able to stack

All due respect ,
Congrats on having twins.
Maybe it will be cheaper to buy smaller more compact version of the stroller instead of paying $400/m more for a monster SUV and pay for the gas these days.

qx80 or armada might be good options to lease. Won’t be cheap.

What about getting a more compact stroller? Do they each have one or is it a double?

We’re a household of 5 (2 adults, 1 6yo and the twins), but we’ll be hosting 2 people pretty regularly from now on, so 7 seats has become a need.
I’ve considered replacing the stroller, but all options for twins we’ve considered are quite bulky.
Going from an EV to a 16mpg V8 frightens me, gotta admit.
I wish GM would offer a SUV as a swap option for my to-be lemoned Sierra, but I don’t see that happening.

It is a double.
Even if it was more compact, pretty much every mid size 3 row SUV has a nonexistent trunk with the 3rd row up.
If all that space is a must have, mini van is going to be it. Don’t even bother looking at Yukons/Suburbans/Expeditions unless you are looking to pay over $1K/mo

I’m currently renting an Odyssey and I’m impressed with how much the trunk can fit…
Hate the thought, but looks like minivan is the answer.
Either an Odyssey or a Kia Carnival. Or Pacifica if you like to live dangerously

What about a CPO variant of a Suburban / Yukon XL?
Aren’t they still working on the 6.2L recall / fix for the next few years so maybe keep that in mind.
With a 6yo and new twins you might as well buy the minivan and wrap it in a warranty

I mean, I think LeaseHackr needs its monthly “wife wants an Escalade” post…

I was looking at a Pacifica, what’s dangerous?

the chrysler part
edit: the best minivan at being a minivan is the pacifica, but it’s hard to escape the chrysler of it all. the v6 is meh reliability, the transmission has its own set of issues, and i wouldn’t go near the pacifica hybrid. odyssey is fine, just not as good of a minivan

I’ve had a couple Pacificas as rentals, most recent a couple weeks ago. As Chrysler products go it was fine, no issues.

I’m almost getting a 2016 Escalade ESV/Suburban as they go quite cheap (for a reason).

How about XC90 if your 6 yo can sit in the built in booster and your wife doesn’t need to sit in the back?
You could keep the 3rd row folded for the extra space. Just another option.

And with the Odyssey or Sienna resale values are so high you will always be able to get out of them whenever you want with a low total cost of ownership assuming you avoid a serious non-totalling accident.
