Same thing happened to me back to June 2019, BMW gave me a call saying they cant approved my lease because I already had one BMW lease recently (on March) I was like ???
Im 100 miles away from the dealership, they send a guy to pick up the car next day
You can’t double-virtue signal by rocking a used Prius, and then fly from SD to LA farting jet fuel. Absolutely not.
And irrespective of the actual flight time, you are grossly misrepresenting gate and taxi time. And as you know, you end up in El Segundo, which might as well be Tijuana.
Environmentally friendly hackrs who lives in SD take the train to LA, even if they flew 89,336 actual miles last year (a slower year with 0 trips to the Admiral’s Club). Even when their flights home are diverted to LA, they use ground transportation to get home.
Last time I drove to a meeting in Sherman Oaks it took over 4 1/2 hours. Next time I’ll fly and take Uber for the last proverbial mile, thank you. Door to door may not be shorter, but I promise you I’ll be in a better mood upon arrival.
There are multiple reasons one ends up with a Prius. In my case it was the unfortunate side effect of meeting /cohabitating with /marrying an electrical engineer with a fascination for hybrid technology.
I’d post my 2019 flight stats, but we know how that would end.
Would they fit in the trunk of the 7 series if printed out?
Couldn’t resist
I can assure you they do not want the car back. That said, if the bank won’t fund the car, they aren’t giving it to him for free, and aren’t set up to take lease payments themselves, so they’ll take it back.
I received a cancellation letters once on a Honda purchase. Turned out that for some odd reason the title for that particular vehicle was not available so they swapped it out for an identical vehicle. Dealer gave me a $100 voucher for my trouble. 20 minute ride and 90 minutes at the dealer signing paperwork to swap out vehicles.
I’m sorry for the lack of followup. I was unable to post because I exceeded my new member limit. You are right, they don’t want it back. Called today and said that they have no financing for it but they do not want to cancel. They want me to sign a new lease which they claim will be identical, just a “2020 update.” Hopefully this was all much ado about nothing,
Just got a cancelation today (Feb 3)
Contract date was Jan 22.
Date on cancelation letter is Jan 29.
Dealer called last week that they needed to rewrite the contract and since they don’t do paper anymore I have to drive an hour and half to dealership to re-sign… I told them I can drive so far and they said they will try to get a paper contract from another dealer…
And today I got the cancelation…
if it is similar to my situation they just sent the letter as a precaution in case you don’t resign the new contract. They were willing to fedex me the paperwork and I mailed it back.
i have personally had like 500 800+ credit score deals get this letter and all were fine.
like my store, if a deal is not FUNDED within 10 business days, legally and per corporate this has to be sent. it can be like over xmas we were backed up on funding and the banks were too.
the reason it’s sent is so that if funding does fall through ie MISSING PAYSTUBS, PROOF OF RESIDENCY ETC, then legally the store is not on the hook for the total amount of the car.
99% of the time it’s because 10 days, not business days, but 10 days have passed and the deal didn’t fund yet. this doesn’t mean anything could be wrong with the deal… just back up from finance manager days off, bank days off, missing a credit application or drivers license etc.
just call the store and see if they need anything.
My brother just had this happen on his Alfa Gulia lease. Dealer made an error, he had to go back in and sign new paperwork. 45 drive, they gave him a full tank of gas, no big deal.
