I did a one-pay lease $5041 over 18 months +$2700 MSD. I want to be sure that I wouldn’t owe extra money out of pocket in case of a totaled vehicle. I thought GAP coverage was a thing for leases. But I called NMAC where the lease is through and they told me the lender may themself have GAP coverage but that I personally do not. Just trying to understand this and make sure I’m protected worst case so I wouldn’t have to owe thousands or have them pull my money from my MSDs.
If you read your lease agreement/fine print, it will have language related to gap coverage and the specifics (whether it is included in the lease or not). Sounds like you do have gap coverage and don’t have to be concerned in the event of a total loss.
I don’t quite understand what is meant by “you personally do not have gap coverage”… personal liability insurance? That of course will be totally separate and nothing to do with NMAC.
every nissan lease has GAP

I think he meant he didn’t have GAP as a rider on his auto policy for the Nissan?
Ah ok, that makes sense now
