Dealer trying to charge taxes on full sales price and i live in Louisiana but Louisiana only charges taxes on monthly note right? Am i wrong or is this dealer doing something wrong.
Where is the dealer? What does your state website say?
In Maryland and this is my second lease i currently only pay 10 percent on the monthly note on that lease.
in maryland they charge on full sales price, but you live in louisiana so it will be the monthly payment. does he know youre out of state?
Yes i even sent him screen shots of my other lease showing exactly 10 percent taxes on my monthly payment but he keep coming back and telling me on there it it says they have to charge full taxes.
Why tf are you expecting a Maryland dealer to know how Louisiana taxes their leases?
This guy is clearly neither smart nor proactive enough to look up him shit himself nor humble enough to be corrected when he’s obviously wrong. Disastrous combination
Run away and move on.
Let me guess, is this the sales person ? Kindly ask to me connected to sales manager or GM.
yea i would move on, what brand of car is this?
It’s the sales manager
If they can’t get the tax correct you need to walk away from this deal. There’s another thread on here where a guy from TX leased a car from LA and the tax was calculated wrong on the lease contract. It’s been a nightmare for him to get it corrected.
If they have agreed to your target deal, and the only thing outstanding is getting the taxes correct, then I would politely tell him that you’re ready to move forward but only once the taxes are correct, and that if they continue to insist on the wrong tax then they have lost a deal.
But if you’re still just in the making offers stage (or worse, shopping for quotes) then I really wouldn’t waste any more time with the taxes until you have a deal.
I’ve leased several cars from out of state and in all instances it’s taken 2 or 3 passes for the dealer to get the taxes correct.
Moreover, most out of state dealers will not put much/any effort into getting out of state taxes correct until they know they have a deal inked.
