Dealer refused to sell car at MSRP

I was able to hack one if you want to call it that for a friend. Negotiation was prior to the custom order my buddy got exactly the spec he wanted.

15k MDM
Buy rate lease

I was talking when Stinger just came out - it was at or above MSRP for few months or even longer.

Dealers were doing this with TRD Pro’s, and still are on the 2020s. You usually cant buy a new one for MSRP, let alone less. But OP could buy 4 pros for 180k haha.

They have a threshold they can go above within their guidelines, and then the lessor has to bring $$ to the table.

I think most banks allow a LTV at 120%-130%, so $30k markup on $180k MSRP is possible.

Last one I sold was 30 over, 25k down (He bought it)
But…Open RR Dawn, Paid Ghost, several Paid AMG’s, and a mortgage on a $3M house was all the bank needed to see to give him an auto approval :joy:

Take him up on his offer – get two, then sell one at or above MSRP!

Is the markup because they are new and not enough have been made yet, or will there always be a mark up?

I can get the limited edition for $35k over sticker…

Stronger than time? I have 1 at 30 over

Yeah I was actually looking for a client last week. They wanted 45k over but finally came down to 35. He’s CIO at a well know company and def has the cash but balked at paying over MSRP. I feel the same way. Wait a few months the gap will close as supply meets demand unless MB is artificially keeping supply low…

Sent OP a DM. You can order at MSRP and there are some at MSRP. Not all dealers are playing the markup game.

They are artificially keeping supply low
Most of the cars are being held at VPC and hey released to dealers in very small batches

You can order at MSRP, the dealers doing it also have 1.5 year wait lists

Yes if there was a trick the dealers would be doing it and shipping them to Cali buyers to make a quick $25-35k.

My contact at MB said people in Cali were paying up to 90 over msrp. :peanuts:

Look at the deal screen I just PM’d you :joy:

They actually financed it at 6%? Amazing truck but not $275k amazing. Then again the Dow is at $29k. So most people are playing with the houses money anyway. Wealthy people are on a whole new level these days…

playing with houses money?

Yes. Stock market = casino = the house.

Why would they do that? Mercedes does not benefit at all when the dealers sell at over MSRP. They want to sell as many cars as they can.
