Dealer lied, lease help

Hello all!

So recently leased a ‘20 Silverado Trail Boss. Love the truck but I originally went in wanting to purchase it using the 84 month promo but they told me that Chevy didn’t offer that on that truck specifically. At the time it didn’t sound to weird because they way they worded it. They stuck to their guns and suggested leasing so I thought what the hell and signed.

Now reading that it’s allowed on all trucks I’m kind of upset they flat out lied to me to get the kick back from leasing I’m guessing? Anything I can do?

You signed for paperwork for the deal, so all you can do is enjoy your new lease.

You can’t do anything now. Lesson learn. Enjoy the car.
Also you were going to finance a car for 7 years?

Yeah at 0% it came out to be a deal because I would of kept the truck. I’ll still enjoy it, I guess leaving a bad review is all I can do.

A car dealer that lies - I’m shocked…

Define “recent.” It’s quite possible this wasn’t available when you leased and became available after you signed, so they may not have been lying.

If it was the beginning of this month, then they couldn’t have lied because Chevy came up with 0% in the mid-month

Signed it on Thursday, the 84 month was out as that’s why I went. He just told me that the 84mo was valid on low duty trucks only, my fault for not being a truck guy and realizing that I wasn’t buying a 2500 lol

You should have called them immediately. You could have possibly intercepted the paperwork and had it rewritten as a purchase, if they complied. They aren’t obligated to, of course, but it is possible. I did that once, but it was the very next day. It might be too late now, but worth a call first thing Monday.

Express your dissatisfaction to the general manager. See what they say. Does GM do customer satisfaction surveys for dealers. You may want to mention this that you weren’t satisfied.

Give them the opportunity to remedy the “mistake”. Somehow. You may want to contact local media. Companies going out of their way to help others during Covid-19. It looks bad if companies are trying to take advantage of the situation.

Stick to facts. It’s only a lie if you know they knew. But they should have known. Etc. Gives you more credibility.

This is the other problem with what you did. You shouldn’t enter into a lease, a purchase agreement, anything with a “what the hell/sure why not?” attitude. You need to be prepared with the numbers and data. Also, don’t go into the dealership; negotiate everything in advance.

The lease has not been funded yet, most likely. It may take up to 10 days and even longer now. Try to talk to the dealer and the lender.

Yes but did OP drive the truck off the lot already? If so, SOL?

What if the dealership wasn’t actually lying? Does anybody here have relationships with an actual Chevrolet store that can see if the 0% is applicable for a trail boss?

Everybody automatically assumes dealer is lying but there’s a slight chance the 0% is only for select models. For example, lets say somebody coincidentally had a C8 Corvette arrive during this time, I’d be willing to bet the 0% financing would not be applicable on it.

If somebody here has access to dealer connect for Chevrolet that would be the only way to know for certain as all the stuff posted on Chevrolet USA doesn’t include the specific details.

Of course he is, unless the dealer is willing to pull lease contract back and re-do it for financing.

What’s the point? What’s done is done.

These buyers remorse threads are so useless.

So when you talked to the other dealers when you were shopping around, did they say the same thing about the 84x0%?(Shocking that a dealer would lie)

Weird it didn’t pan out perfectly with this much research.

What are the details of the lease versus the finance that you wanted to do?
