Dealer just told me the Lease Calculator on the site doesn't wok

So I am working on a deal for an XC90 T8. The sales manager said that the calculator here does not work for 2025 model years. I said, I have all the information on what you are offering me, the MF and the residual, what’s hard to calculate? He won’t provide me with a lease sheet until I allow them to run my credit so they can give me an accurate MF.

We are $200 off in monthly payment. I think the issue is that they are using the rebates in what they are calling the sales price, but since he won’t give me the numbers I am moving on. Just annoyed that I wasted my time with them.

The calculator is just a calculator. The math isnt different on a 25. If the numbers arent close to the same, the deal thats been input into the calc and the deal the dealer is calculating just arent the same deal.

Never mention LH or the LH calculator to the dealer as it will solicit all sorts of nonsense responses and reactions like the one you received from this dealer.

And of course never allow a dealer to run credit until you’ve agreed on a deal.
Tell them to use Tier 1, assuming you qualify. If they won’t even do that then that’s a sure sign to move on to another dealer.

volvo has no credit tiers. it’s approve or decline. any “accurate MF” that you’ll get is a straight rate bump from dealer.

Then move on from this dealer.

What are your numbers?

Maybe post a link to your calculator so that we can be sure nothing is incorrect. It’s easy to overlook something. Not saying that you are, but it doesn’t hurt to have someone verify. That way you know going into a new deal that you have the calculations correct for your area.

MSRP 75,965
Discount 8.5% $69,508
Rebates EV $7,500 Dealer $2,500 Not sure which are taxed or not.
I want my DAS to be roughly $3,300 - I have $1,300 in equity on the car my wife is driving now and another $2,000.
Volvo acquisition fee is $995.

Here is the calculator. Let me know if I have something wrong please.

I’m in the same situation, working on a Lyriq sport 3, dealer won’t provide complete breakdown on deal, just giving me piece on of info, trying to guess why our #s doesn’t match

Don’t guess mi amigo, move to another dealer.

I’m by no means a calculator expert but this is what i got based on what your provided. We’re still kind of flying blind since we don’t know if the dealer is actually discounting the car as much as you say or if they are rolling some of the rebate into that. Most states tax the incentives as far as I know (someone please correct if that’s not the case in OH). Also, you’re missing some fees. There’s going to be a doc fee, registration, license, etc. I used $500 for those fees. I don’t know what’s normal in OH.

run away. fast.

While i agree that one should flee from a dealer unwilling to give a lease breakdown, if you are asking the dealer how much they want you to pay, you’re already setting yourself up to pay too much.

First of, please create your own post. Second of all, a dealer does not need to share a detailed quote if you’ve made them an offer and they agree to it.

It is pretty simple. They either say YES to your well researched offer or NO. There is no need to guess numbers.

LH rule number one (or it should be). We don’t talk about LH or the calculator to dealers. Most will just be bewildered, incredulous, or straight up shut down and say “that site is nonsense, those deals don’t exist”.

On your issue, if this dealer isn’t willing to give you a lease sheet until he runs your credit, run and never look back. Most dealers are ecstatic to print that beautiful form up that tells you how much your monthly payment will be for the car (and their subsidized boat payment)

Did you check out any of the deals in the marketplace? If you can’t find someone serving your area, build a target deal based on research and give it to the dealer. Generally, you don’t negotiate with them. You tell them how much you’re willing to pay, and they can say yay or nay.

They offered me payments based on the numbers agreed upon. They were way off the numbers when I run them in the calculator. I was asking about other fees I may not be capturing and that’s when they wouldn’t provide any more details. I am not at all negotiating on a payment amount.

It would appear they didn’t, or at least not the numbers you thought you agreed to.

Thanks, it’s nice to have good, specific advice for us newbies.

That is my conundrum.

Unfortunately, people who mention LH and have incorrect calculations are the reason dealers say the calculator here doesn’t work. Before making your offer to the next dealer, get the calculator 100% accurate. Like Matt said, it’s just a calculator. If the inputs are correct, the output will be correct. I didn’t look too hard at your Calc above but the fact you are missing all the fees tells me it’s not accurate. Next time don’t mention this site at all and make an actionable offer.

Did you not include a monthly and DAS with these numbers?

Neither, should I in the future? I was trying to work with just purchase price and go from there. Once they know a payment number they will try to work you into that number.
