Dear Fellow Hackrs:
I want to share a negative experience with Thousand Oaks, CA Mercedes Benz Dealership. They were selling a 2022 GLC for $37,995 plus state tax/regn+ $85 doc fee.i offered 37 K and they agreed to sell. They sent me a price quote, spec sheet and car fax report. I offered them to make advance payment to reserve the car since I was going to p/u the car in the weekend. I also live far from the dealership. The internet manager told me that advance was not necessary and payment at pick up time was okay. The quote also noted the same. While I arranged for my insurance, the manager sent me a text in the following morning noting that they sold the car. I was puzzled since the manager committed to the sale and he declined even to take advance payment earlier. On my query, his response was â we hadnât sold it to youâ. I can see what happened. They sold the car to someone who paid them couple of hundred dollar more. Beware of the scam artists and avoid this dealership.
First come first serve.
It sucks, but it happens⌠never assume youâve locked in a car till youâve at least been hit up for a deposit formally (form filled, signed, returned)

Sorry to hear that but until you put cash in their hands (or a signature via edocs), that car is not yours and you can walk away from the sale.
So they have the right to sell it to someone else as well.
The one that is more sketchy is when they sell your PRE ORDERED car because someone walked in and said âHere is some ADM money, gimme car nowâ
