Deal or no deal on a 2025 BMW X4 M Competition?

I am looking to lease a BMW X4 M Competition this week. I really don’t know if I should expect a mark-up or a discount? Since they are end-of-life, are they ‘rare’, so marked-up? Or since the X3 has been fully redesigned, is the X4 now considered ‘old’ and dealers want you to steal them off their lot? Anything else I should know to get the best deal? I am looking for maxed-out, sticker around 94K. Am willing to put down a ton and/or multiple-deposits.

BACKGROUND: I’m in Los Angeles, been driving my X3 M40i since 2019 (leased it, bought out the lease) and would love to keep it forever, but it has over 90K miles and the last problem (the M Sport Differential died – I absolutely won when I paid for the extended maintenance plan – would have cost $10K if out of pocket!) has scared me into getting something new.

Also I think the new X3 is ridiculous looking and wouldn’t take one if you gave it to me. (I’d give my left one to lease a new X3MC – wasn’t paying close enough attention when they disappeared :frowning:)

I am open to getting it anywhere in the US and having it shipped, but there seem to be enough in SoCal that I would choose one that is ‘close enough’ if I could get a great deal, and it sure would make it easier to trade in my X3.

Any thoughts/insider-knowledge on how dealers see the X4MC, or anything else I should know to get the best deal?

Much appreciated.

There aren’t many of these around. I do have one available in CA, though.

I also have a dealership with one in IL, so it just depends on what you want and the difference in discounts vs. shipping costs. Registration in CA is a little bit of a pain from out of state, but not impossible.

And yes, the new X3 is not great, if you ask me. I much prefer the previous generation!

Im trying to negotiate a deal with a dealership local to me. They have a 2024 with all the packages that was demoed by their sales manager and it has like 5k~ miles. They wont budge past like 8/9K off MSRP. Plus loyalty rebate, im still at like 1300/month without money down.

It’s not a hackable car. If you really want one buy one.

But don’t buy a demo: buy either a brand new one or a one-owner used one depending on which is the better relative value.

My dude, getting a manager demo X4MC is setting yourself up for another exploded diff.

BMW of Monrovia won’t deal at all on their 2024 Brooklyn Grey one?

I’m no longer in SoCal but I can try? Either way for that kind of money, better to try for an M4C or if something decent pops up on the private lease transfers

I’m confused, your post is tagged to CA-SoCal and you said you’re in LA? Wouldn’t Monrovia be like 30 to 90 minutes from you (not sure where in LA you are).

The lease or buy option are both going to be expensive though.

No I’m in SLC area. OP is in SoCal.

Have you driven either the X3M or X4M yet? I have read they can be very stiff for a daily driver. Maybe that does not matter to you. We have an X4m40i which I don’t think rides all that well either.

I’ve put over 90K miles on my X3M40i and think it rides great. I’ve been beating up the local dealers by telling them I’m interested in their used X3MC or X4MC (not interested, want new!) and test driving them to test for exactly that reason – and the ride seems just fine to me. And I love all the extra power!
