I am new to the Porsche world. Looks like they are horrible are bargaining. I have an eye on this Red 2020 cayman 718, MSRP: $73,690, miles: 5,763 mi. Another hitch is that the car is in east coast and i am located in California, so they are asking for another $3800 to ship it in close trailer.
Below is the financing deal they are offering, how bad is this? what would be a fair rate for a car like this? Is leasing would be a better option that financing here? since the MSRP is so high and even after 3 years it would have good resell values?
Why would you pay over msrp for a 6k mile used cayman?
Yes after 3 years it will have real good resale value. LOL.
Looking at depreciation of 15k a year on this.
I think you have misdiagnosed the scenario, my friend.
It wasn’t that long ago you could find year old 4 cyl base 718s for over $10k off sticker. Even if you buy this for MSRP now, you’ll likely see significant depreciation over 3 years as the market corrects.
Can you really not get a brand new one for less than $4k over sticker?
I don’t understand the motivation to pay $4k over msrp for a 2 model year old, used cayman.
Does that price include the CPO warranty?
And financing is better than leasing for a Cayman. You will do fine on the resell value for any mid or rear engine Porsche regardless of the market.
There are two new red Caymans for sale and neither are on their respective dealer’s lot yet.
This was one of the craziest parts of owning my 2013 981 Boxster.
Bought it in 2015 for 54k, enjoyed the heck out of it till 2019, when it was unfortunately totaled and insurance paid out 39k. Fast forward to 2021, and in this crazy market, similar vehicles are apparently going for 41-42k.
Even accounting for some of the crazy maintenance costs with the 30k service and all, it was one heck of a value retainer in the long haul.
I’d finance 100% in this case.
Could you please share the details for these new red caymans?
I will send you a PM with the dealer.
At this kind of pricing I’d call around to local dealers to see what the lead time is on an order. I’d be willing to wait a few months to have a new one built exactly to my specs if I’m going to be paying over MSRP anyway.
6 months for any dealer. No more 2021 allocations and will be a 2022 model year.
yeah. thats what i am hearing too.
How much should be a good price for a new cayman 2021 base model?
