I dont carry collission for cars with less than $10k market value.
Buy a beater that you donāt carry comp or collision for.
Iām giving it all sheās got Captainš
Not necessarily the case.
Wow! A lot of miles. Did you have to put any work into it or does it need some sort of expensive upcoming maintenance?
Iām cross shopping the same vehicle for my daughter. How do you like the one you bought? Any oil burning issues - I hear that is a problem on the early 2.0L Drive-E engines on the 2015.5 and 2016s.
Watch this guy on YouTube for Lexus/Toyota cars⦠he says 2010 and 2011 had some issues. I always search my local CL ads for an RX or ES/GS 350 Lexus and refer to his videos for when Iām ready to execute a purchase
I donāt know it this is a factor for you (and I have zero interest in debating the topic), but according to the manufacturer, our '08 RX Suckmobile requires premium fuel.
I know you are over your poofy Lexus, but that generation is indestructible provided one drives it 500+ miles/year to keep the mechanicals lubricated.
So ugly but like a tardis is bigger on the inside, safe/reliable, sips reg gas, carplay/aa
Safe choices
I can smell the interior of this car through the screen but it will go forever
Cheapdads donāt buy used Volvos

. Contemplating getting an XC60 or 90 lease for my wife to replace her QX50 over the next couple of months. Buying a used one for my daughter would qualify me for loyalty (and would be an easier sell to my wife than buying a 20 yr old Saab for $250 to qualify).
The Lexus ended up selling within a few hours of me declining. Used market for RX is still strong.
man these all seem so crappy. Maybe Iāll just buy a new civic/corolla or a bike lol.
Volvo - used, high miles, out of warranty. Youāll pay when itās time for maintenance/repair.

I will do most/all of the maintenance/repair myself (outside of engine/transmission rebuilds) - so that doesnt concern me much. A vehicle that needs a new engine/transmission concerns me more.

Idk⦠loyalty is only $1,000-1,500 depending on the new model, IIRC. Not worth it.
In this price range OP is much better off buying private party with a PPI and ideally some documented maintenance history from the owner.
Vs paying retail plus some unknown doc fee or āprice is only for those who finance with our usurious interest rateāas well as unknown maintenance history
The lack of preventative maintenance is usually what leads to the āengine/transmission rebuilds.ā

For March $2k on an XC90 and $2500 on an XC60. Might be worth it if you are already shopping the brandās vehicles and have a need for the older vehicle for a child to drive.
