Deal check Tesla Model 3

Hello Hackrs! These numbers seem off to me. They don’t share the RV. I know I have a high MF because of new credit buy still seems strange. Thanks for looking!

It’s a tesla, so it is what it is.

What are those referral and price adjustment lines?

There is a $2250 referral credit. That is $1000 for using the referral link, $1000 for military, and $250 from a canceled order that they refused to refund but I was able to convince them to add as a credit on this order. Price adjustment is the discount that was on this particular vehicle from available inventory. Here is my never used before referral link if you need it.

What’s the trade and how much is it worth on the open market?

Its a beater worth junk. I would be shocked if they actually gave me what they quoted. I’m scheduled to pick up the car today.

Direct sale model, either take it or leave it.

RV doesn’t really matter anyway since Tesla doesn’t allow buyouts. You’ll be paying $18k to rent a $34k-$7.5k=$26.5k car for 36 months. IMO that’s an awful lot to pay for what you’re getting in an M3, but if that’s what you want, the price is the price.

I mentioned RV because that is the missing piece to check the math on the deal. To check the math is is really important. I would take an M3 all things equal, but you are comparing this deal to an M3 with top tier credit approval probably outside of Florida. Not apples to apples. The was way sub $300 per month before they adjusted the MF.

You’re paying way too much to lease it. Just finance if you really love the car.

Are you eligible for the $7,500 tax credit if you purchased a Long Range? If you could do that with the $2,250 referral credit and $4,290 price adjustment you could buy one for around $30K vs $20K for a 3 year rental. You might not qualify for the 2.49% offer, but if you could your payment on a Long Range for 60 months wouldn’t be much more than your lease on a Standard Range.

Also just my opinion, but the residual on a Tesla lease is about as relevant as asking Avis for their residual on a rental Camry.

With the referral code, this makes a good deal for a commuter car. As much as im not a tesla fan, with 36/15k its under 400 a month with inceptions DAS. Makes me wanna consider this once my taycan is due

I agree. I’m standings here in line for my appointment to pick it up rn. I’m going to ask them to switch it to finance or I’ll just buy it cash. Hopefully they don’t give me too hard of a time… Love this community!

Let us know how it goes. Very smart not to lease. Somehow Tesla lease rates are horrible compared to other manufacturers.

I looked at leasing a $95K Tesla Model X, and the payment was $1,700/month vs $850/month for an equivalent MSRP BMW iX. I couldn’t understand why since it was the same 36/10K lease $0 DAS. Bizarrely, if you lease, the cost of ownership is about 2x for the Tesla!!

I’m pretty sure the Long Range is eligible for the tax credit while Standard Range isn’t, so might want to consider that.

I ended up leasing the car. I wouldn’t qualify for the tax credit because its a 2023 model. I would have walked away but it was for my little sister, I didn’t have time to invest another day, and my trade was falling apart on the way to the dealer. At least now she will build her credit and we’ll really hack something in three years.
