Deal check! Tacoma TRD Off-Road or keep shopping

I’ve been eyeing up truck leases lately and looking to strike in October or November. This quote is for a well equipped trd off road with iFORCE MAX. Money factor isn’t great but the residual and discount are okay. What are your thoughts?

  • Vehicle: 2026 Tacoma TRD Off-Road i-FORCE MAX 4WD

  • MSRP: $57,667

  • Selling Price: $50,900

  • Dealer Discount: $6,767 (11.7%)

  • Term: 36 months / 12,000 miles per year

  • Residual: 73% ($42,097)

  • Money Factor: 0.00265

  • Capitalized Fees: $2,042.54

  • Adjusted Cap Cost: $52,785.78

  • Monthly Payment: $548.35 pre-tax / $599.82 including tax

You’re 2k under invoice. It’s def solid. I can beat it but shipping would negate the savings. If you’re happy with it sign it ask for another 500-1000 off couldn’t hurt

If I want to buy this car, can I also ask for a 11.7% off msrp? Or is the discount lease only?

It doesn’t hurt to ask!

I offered 49,000 sale price and best they came back with was 11.7% off which I determined was good for this trim and spec. I’m not sure if they would have taken that price as a purchase - they might have. For what’s it worth, I thought the lease was a better ‘deal’ for 3 years - high residual, not so great money factor.. but with the discount and if I put my money in the market rather than dump all that capital into the depreciating asset up front, I’ll knock largely eliminate the difference in buy vs lease savings with what I make in the market. Purchasing at the discount price “maybe” would have worked out better if planned to keep it for 5-7 years or more. At the end of the day, given some car market uncertainty right now, I was more than happy to let the dealership take the risk on depreciation.
