Deal Check - PA - 2024 Polestar 3 Dual Motor Pilot

Hi everyone, I am in PA and decided to stop by Polestar today and check on the Polestar 3 lease deals. $474/month for 27 months and $2000 down. Rebates the EV credit as well as Costco and Conquest. I feel like the deal is so-so compared to the marketplace lease deals. What should I look for? Is 10% MSRP achievable? Thanks!

Hey, mind how you got the MSRP discount? The closest Space to me is saying they/Polestar does not negotiate on the price.

Don’t know. You’ll need to do the research. Peruse LH signed deals and tips as well as LH marketplace. Check Edmunds and TrueCar. Look at your local market. Make sure that the discount is a pure dealer discount void of customer rebates/incentives.

Also, why are you paying 2000 down? No need to pay 2000 upfront. Used as a cap reduction, you could lose most or all of it in the event the vehicle is stolen or totaled. Remember, a car is an expense and a depreciating asset, not an investment. Use the 2000 to invest in goods and services or other more meaningful and productive goods/investments, particularly if you can earn the equivalent of an after-tax rate of return exceeding 0.864% (2400 x .00036 ≈ 0.864%) which should be very easy to do in today’s market.

Long story short, if you don’t put any money down (customer cap reduction), your base payment is 505.40. Adding PA tax @9.00%, gives a contractual payment of 550.89.

Bottom line: Zero drive-off followed by 26 monthly payments of 550.89 each.

NOTE: The first payment is being capitalized. Also, I did confirm the dealer’s calculations, and they are accurate.
