Deal Check on CX-30

Link to offer I got, Update:

I am in Louisiana, so Equinox EVs have good discounts for dealers in the region and I would qualify for Costco incentive, I could do GM card as well to help.

But I do not have lease conquest, a bolt to trade in. Neither me or my wife is a first responder or military.

So, unless I am unaware of other incentives, I could only get 1,250 for Costco, and $500 from the GM card. Seems for the EV might not be hackable for me without more incentives, maybe I am mistaken.

I got a quote from dealer locally for 505 @ .00016 rate. (This was before Costco incentive came back) They were adding on like tire & wheel and something else that totaled around 2,000 dollars but even with those gone not really close to any of the great deals I have seen on the EVs.

I am paying some things off credit wise to try to get to next tier.

With Money factors relatively being equal, the Equinox EV seemed like best option at first with heavy discounts and incentives, the more I look at the CX-30 seems like it will cost us less no matter what compared to Equinox.

The Equinox is just a lot more expensive in comparison even with higher residual the Equinox has, if I am aiming for 8-10% off MSRP of the Mazda and I have 500 or 750 in Loyalty to put towards the vehicle. (Mixed answers on what the amount the loyalty actually is, I think they removed the 750 and only have 500 for the south region.)

The Cap Cost will probably end up several thousand less than the Equinox EV just due to CX-30 starting off with a much lower price even if the Equinox has higher residual. The 2025 CX-30s though have decent residual sitting around 63%.

I think CX-30 would be something we considering buying out to at the end of lease unlike the EV. I understand maybe I already answered my own question, just want some feedback if I am missing something here?

Thanks!

Remember the cap cost and discounts are just part of the puzzle, How does the money factor and residuals look compared to each other?

Without Bolt or lease conquest don’t look at any Chevy EVs. Prologue, Ariya, Io5, or EV6 might be cheaper.

That almost never makes sense to do.

Fair if it made sense, Im okay with just turning it in. We may want to move up to bigger vehicle by then.

MSRP: $28,580 2025 Select Sport
Sales Price: $27,812 before 1,250 in incentives. (Mazda loyalty)

I went to my local Mazda dealer on Saturday, right off the bat they had 1600 in accessories on the worksheet. So not great start. But I got them to remove it off the deal.

I got them down to 26,500 on selling price but of course they came back with well we will only do that if you finance with us. At this time I had not mentioned if I was going to finance or lease.

Eventually they “offered” “cost” on CX-30 if we financed/leased through Mazda Financial.

Last thing they asked me was if they got it down to 390 per month with 500 down, would I sign?

So apparently they have little more room they willing to move to make deal happen. Though I am sure they will want to sell me everything in finance office to make up for it.

I told them we are too far apart and left.

Not sure why are you wasting time by walking in unprepared and without having verified that it’s hackable and having defined your proper target payment.

Unless you have seen some evidence in Signed Deals & Tips or the marketplace, consider it unhackable.

I did looked through this forum and other sites .

I have seen deal for like 100 dollars less than what they offered me….
