Deal check on 2026 Corolla LE 36/10K [DC]

, , ,

I wanted to get the community’s feedback on a deal I received from one of the less problematic dealerships I’ve been working with for a 2026 Corolla LE.

My terms:

  • 36 months
  • 10,000 miles
  • $0 down
  • $0 DAS or first month’s payment
  • All-in monthly payments

Here’s the proposed deal (I’m in the Washington, D.C. area):

  • RV: 66%
  • MF: 0.00228
  • Market value selling price (dealer’s price): $24,954
  • MSRP: $23,135
  • Discount: $2,750
  • Adjusted price: 22,204
  • Total purchase: 22,204
  • Doc Fee: $800
  • Tax: $82
  • Non-tax Fees: 220.00 (I’m assuming this is title/registration, but I’ll check with the dealer)
  • Net Price: $23,956
  • Acquisition fee: $750
  • Balance: $23,956
  • Monthly payment: $363 ($394 with GAP insurance)

I do not qualify for any of the current incentives (military or college graduate). I know Memorial Day’s coming up, so I wonder if I could leverage the holiday; I’m also open to other suggestions to bring the price down.

Dump the GAP. That’s a crazy cost.

I saw that deal, but I’m outside the service area.

You are in a full tax state. Why not buy instead?

Leasing is better for my situation.

Then a Corolla is not right for your situation. An Elantra or Sentra will be a lot less.

It’s actually very rare for choice of strategy (leasing vs financing) to align with choice of make and model. Quite often you have to choose one or the other.
