Deal check on 2024 Ioniq 5 Limited in VA

It seems leasing in VA is not a very good deal compared to other states because of having to pay sales tax on the whole thing. I’m looking at 24m/12k/0 down on Ioniq 5 limited. This is what I got from a dealer in MD.

MSRP: 59,290
Selling price: 56,790
Rebates: 15,500
Dealer processing: 799
Govt Fee: 515
Lease acquisition fee: 650
Tax: 1746
Gross cap cost: 60,500
Adjusted cap cost: 34,981
Monthly payment: 570
Money factor: .0016

The discount off MSRP isn’t that aggressive from what I can tell.

How is your tax so far below 56790*4.25%?

Spot on for a VA lease with no money down. Makes no sense to lease for only 24 months given all the tax paid upfront. Did you check the payment on 36 months?

Also, the MF for a Limited appears to be higher than for other models.

I think you are right about getting a 36 months instead of 24 months deal because of the upfront tax we have to pay in Virginia

I think the tax is based on selling price - rebate

Did you get a better deal?
