Deal Check: New 2024 Hyundai Santa Cruz SE AWD

Hello!

I wanted to see if this is a good lease deal on this 2024 Hyundai Santa Cruz SE AWD in Ohio.

We want to lease any sort of truck and trading in our Ford Escape lease for another one (couldn’t pass up the rebates), so I’m trying to get the cheapest truck lease we can find without putting a ton down. Any advice would be helpful too!

I used the calculator but I want to make sure these numbers are the best I can get. TIA

Verify the money factor and residual. And then see if you can get a stronger dealer discount. You arent even at 5% off MSRP with dealer discounts. I would shoot for 7-8% and see if there are any other discounts/incentives you qualify for- recent grad etc.

You would have spent more than the selling price of the car over two leases. How do you benefit from such an arrangement?

Sorry, what do you mean? Benefit from having two vehicles?

I only did a very cursory search, but I couldn’t find any recent Santa Cruz deals. Is there data suggesting that 7–8% is a strong discount?

OP, I’m a little confused by your first post. You’re trading in your Ford Escape for another one and also want a truck, as well?

Yep, that’s correct. Basically here’s our situation:

My husband and I currently drive a 21 Corolla and 20 Ford Escape. I have a loan on the Corolla ($408) and a lease on the Escape ($416) which is up on 8/1.

However, we both work from home and the Corolla just sits there 90% of the time, so our original plan was to get a van or SUV in lieu of the Escape and sell the Corolla for positive equity and get a beater since we still do need two cars. However, we can’t afford to buy a car out of pocket and we can’t find anything that is affordable monthly that isn’t over $100k miles.

My husband has always really wanted a truck anyway for the truck bed, so we decided to at least try and go that route and just get a lease with 10k/yr. We are just trying to keep the payments pretty much around the same but really too much higher but I can’t find too much good info on truck leasing in OH.

I kind of perked my ears up at this Hyundai deal because it’s the cheapest truck lease I’ve seen so far, but I wasn’t sure if I just had my head in the clouds.

Have you test driven a Santa Cruz. They are basically a Santa Fe with a “truck” area instead of the cargo area more in line with a Honda ridgeline. Not sure how truck of a truck you are looking for?

So you’ll be getting another car in addition to the possible Santa Cruz? Does the Escape get driven a lot? And what is the interest rate on your Corolla lease? You weren’t asking this, but I don’t know if it makes a lot of financial sense to get 2 cars if only one of them gets used a lot (and maybe neither of them get used a lot)?

To get back to your original question, I don’t see a lot of Santa Cruz deals here, but it might be worth checking Signed! and the Marketplace to see if you can find any recent Santa Cruz deals. Edmunds indicates that, back in May, there was a 39 mo lease w/ a much lower MF (but also a drop in RV). Might want to see if 39 mo makes more sense financially.

Check out the Honda Ridgeline… it will be infinitely better than the Santa Cruz, for around the same monthly on a 36/10. I don’t think 10% discount off MSRP plus the $1k conquest rebate is unreasonable on these.

edit: also @amb3 pay leasehackr the $10 to become a super supporter so you can get access to rate findr
