Deal check on this quote I received? Goal is first month payment DAS only. Texas tax rate is 6.25%. Does this seem fair, or should I be negotiating more? I’d like to see the protection package removed as I feel like it’s just dealer profit and plan to ask when I test drive for removal. Thanks in advance for any help or opinion.
Maybe try using this PND out of Florida as a baseline. And, yes, by all means, the protection package is a non-starter.

You can reach out to the folks with the PND and let them know you’re residing in TX. Or reach out to a broker that handles Mazda in TX.
I don’t know if it’s a particularly good idea to take a PND to show to a dealership. You can certainly use some of the data from a PND (such as $ discount off MSRP before rebates/incentives) to structure your own offer.

TX is one of the few states that base the lease tax on the selling price of the car. If you are not wedded to a CX-70, it might be worth searching the forum to see if you can find a car you like that might have tax credits in TX.
