Guessing this is a purchase? Whats the MSRP and the selling price?

Yes it’s a purchase.

MSRP : $72955

listing price is $70955

OTD : $74,000

Weak discount, though I don’t know the market for these. Why not get the 500 which is apparently being discounted 10% or so, or even the PHEV at that point to capture the lease incentive?

Search the forum. What discounts are possible has been discussed recently

Isn’t this just a 3-row RX, or a Grand Highlander with Lexus badging? I mean it’s fine, do you need the vehicle now? My personal thoughts:

-Not taking trim into account, there are literally 100s of these available in Texas or nearby. This is NOT an in-demand vehicle

-If it were me dropping $70-80k, I would not buy a slightly larger Highlander with some chrome and leather. $70k for a 2.4L engine that they use all day long in Toyotas? No thanks. The car’s probably going to sell well, but to me, it’s not a luxury car and not worth $70k+. Get a GX if you want a Lexus, or spend way less and get an MDX or something. There are lower trim versions of these in the low $60s which I bet will sell in the mid-high $50s at the end of the year. You’re dropping $75k for more or less the same vehicle.

-I’d ask for at LEAST 10% off, but if you don’t need a vehicle RIGHT now, I’d wait until the end of the year. Lexus usually has decent deals durnig December to Remember and dealers get hidden “coupons” they can put towards discounts.

-If you’re not a brand snob and are in TX and need 3-rows, go hunt like a crazy person for a Mazda CX-90 PHEV at 7-8% off MSRP, buy rate MF and no add-ons. Do a 24mo lease with the mileage you need. You should be at sub $380/mo with 0-down on a Preferred trim (base) or $50-70 more per month for the top-of-the-line trim. There’s $13k in rebates, but inventory is disappearing fast. Meets your needs, similar to the overpriced TX350 without the fake luxury branding and you’re spending WAY less. $9-12k over 2. years depending on trim.

NO. Absolutely not. get a 500h. most dealers have them at 10-12% off. @CBrais will beat your price to the moon and back! You are better off buying it out of state and trucking it in. Still will be cheaper. I just bought a TX 550H+ lease to purchase. Taking out all the fees I got $5k off MSRP from that lease credit (dealer sold it at MSRP). The v6’s reliability is worth it alone. I was at $78k purchase price with 0 due at signing. that might be a better deal.

Respect your thoughts. to a lot of us its a very functional non-minivan, minivan. Lexus does have a few upgrades that are a lot nicer than toyota hybrid plat max.

It’s nearly $80k for the same dorky 2.4L they use in the base Highlander, even the TX500h uses the same engine.

If you have $80k for a vehicle, fuel economy probably shouldn’t be your biggest concern. The GX is a much better designed vehicle for similar money with a V8 or twin Turbo V6.

If you really need 3-rows, I would personally look at the CX-90 PHEV lease as I mentioned earlier (very luxurious inside) or get something with a powerful 6-cyl or 8-cyl. If you want luxury, X7, GLS, GV80 are all solid vehicles that are far more luxury than a prettied-up 4-cyl Toyota with Lexus badging. The X7 has proven to be very reliable as well.

$70-80k for a 2.4L i4 (even with a mild hybrid) is completely nuts. Especially because the engineering and powertrain design all had to be done to get the base Highlander at $40k, but this is the same engine/ transmisison/ engineering with some bells/whistles for double the price.

There’s a reason there are thousands of these sitting on the lot nationally while the GX can’t stay in stock.

This must be a CPO, hence the 6 year bumper to bumper warranty.

Yes, it has 25 miles on it, the dealership says it’s bought from California and selling as CPO.

How does this compare to buying a brand new one? Since this is a used car, it will not qualify for the best financing rates vs new. Or are you paying cash?

New is cheaper as they claim CPO has better bumper to bumper warranty. My financial bank looks at mileage for financing over used vs new.
I am still on fence between buying new vs a CPO ( which is literally new)

Run. You’re paying more than new pricing for a CPO?!? Why is the car CPO and pre-titled with only 25 miles? Standard Lexus Warranty is 4 years 50k bumper to bumper and 6 years powertrain. You can always buy an extended warranty before the original warranty is up.

Either use a broker, or get quotes on a new TX from every Lexus dealership in your area and just buy the cheapest one. I still think the TX isn’t worth the money, but considering this isn’t even brand new, it makes the deal even crappier.

On a Lexus I would not be so worried about the CPO warranty unless you are a SUPER high mileage driver. In that case I could see a benefit to CPO. Unless you’re a high mileage vehicle driver I wouldn’t even consider this CPO. Get a new one. What area are you in?

I am in Texas and literally every dealership I have called don’t have these on lot and ask for MSRP on reservation.

They say as they bought these from CA , they are selling it as CPO. That’s the only reasoning I have got so far. I will take your advise and skip this offer.

I’m in DFW. Sewell Lexus has over 100, Park Place has 50. I stopped looking after that. They might be incoming units or something, but there’s no reason to be paying MSRP on a CPO. Get a GX if you want to pay MSRP.

Sewell appears to have at least 10+ Luxury trims that are not “in-transit” and 35 in total including the ones on the way:

Also, these aren’t made in Japan (like the GX I believe), so no major tariff worries, and no long transit times either.

These are all way smaller inside, so it’s like comparing Cuties to whatever the largest variety of oranges are

But the OP can do much better on the TX.

CPO should not be viewed as more appealing than brand new. You can always extend the OEM warranty before you cross 48m/50K

I don’t see how coming from CA makes any difference. The car must have been previously titled. That’s why it would be sold as used. It might be worthwhile to subscribe to caredge.com you can search by VIN# and it will tell you what a fair offer may be on that particular vehicle. The subscription is cheap.

I knew you were in TX, I was asking for more specifics. I have a contact at Sewell Lexus in Dallas. I was going to provide it if you’re in the DFW area.
